Good evening,

I would very appreacite if somebody can explain the following...

Is there anyone familiar with the process of getting treatment for people who is not US citizen (or immigrant) but wants to get a treatment in USA without a medical insurance? Is that possible to buy an insurance and get a cancer treatment? My grandmother (78yo) is from Russian. Recently was diagnoised with a cancer. Russian doctors refused to do any treatment. I really want to bring her here to USA and help somehow. I believe the treatment without insurance will cost me a fortune. Insurance is my only chance to help and safe her!

Contact them, they could guide you... http://www.dana-farber.org/Adult-Care/Treatment-and-Support/Patient-and-Family-Support/International-Patient-Assistance.aspx

If not for care at their hospital, they might recommend centres that are closer to your grandmother. I doubt any insurance would help though - good luck with everything.

Insurance pays for something that might happen, it appears you have a situation which will happen.

B2 would be the right vise for obtaining medical treatment. The Consulate would need to see evidence of the need for treatment in the US and how it is going to be paid for.

US health care costs are very expensive and it could well be that similar treatment can be obtained elsewhere at a fraction of the cost.

Hi,

Sorry about your grandmother.

There is no way for her to come here and have someone else pay for her medical needs. Its just not going to happen. No insurance company in its right mind will sell a policy to an elderly foreigner who has cancer.

Your best bet is to pay cash for treatment over seas.

Sorry.
