3 and a half hours since NVC opened. I have been calling fairly constantly only stop for 2, 30 minute periods to watch some shows but have been mashing the call button ever since and still no luck getting through. I wonder if they keep a list of numbers that have recently called and give priority to those that have not called recently somehow....? I called yesterday at 8:00 and got connected almost instantly.

Anyway, the main things I am wondering that I want to ask them could perhaps be answered by some of you, and I would really appreciated it if you can.

I paid the IV fee yesterday. Lately, how long is it taking for DS-260 to become available after paying it? It still has not cleared my checking account. Should I expect the whole 30 business days for that as well? Since the rep said my documents wouldnt make it in time for the interview, I initially figured it would be ready in a few days. Then I thought about how long it took to get the IV fee to come after DS-261 and now I wonder if I will actually have to wait 30 more business days even though we have an expedite. If that is the case, then I actually might get my documents back on time since I have to wait for DS-260 to be completed before even scheduling the interview anyway. So I dont even know if I actually need to start preparing a brand new AoS package from scratch or not, even though I have already begun doing so.

I was told by the NVC rep yesterday that I may need to re-create my entire AoS packet since the documents I sent most likely wont make it back to me before the interview. What I forgot to ask was, should I keep everything exactly as it was when I submitted it to NVC or should I change things to reflect the past 2 months that have happened since then? Mainly, including more recent pay stubs and recalculating income values based on the new ones and changing the multiple I-864s that we are submitting.

Last thing I wanted to ask them was, do I need to re-create the entire I-130 packet that originally came to NVC from USCIS again as well? They only mentioned AoS since they had it on file and didnt review it yet, but they said it would take until Sept 10th to even send that out to us to bring to the interview. Are they just going to send the I-130 earlier somehow and find the time, or should I expect to send that as well?

Everything is so confusing and none of this is in any wiki I could find....

Lots of people are calling from all over the world that's why the line is always busy so just keep trying.

Talking from my own experience, My IV changed from IN PROCESS to PAID the next day after payment and my DS-260 was unlocked immediately. Your IV status should change to PAID today or tomorrow and your DS-260 will be unlocked.

I don't think you need to recreate another i-130 package.

Where did you even find a phone number to call the IRS? I scoured and scoured the web, the number I found for requesting tax transcripts was only a voice automated menu, I tried every option, I even tried pressing 0, could not get to a person no matter what I did.

That is great information to pass along to save others the grief those stupid tax transcripts gave me!

Not sure if you've seen this page and if it's the same phone number you've been trying, but here's the webpage on the variety of ways to get the transcripts: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Request-a-Transcript-or-Copy-of-a-Prior-Year-Tax-Return

I'm not sure about some of the other things, but regarding paying IV fee, I paid my last month on the 15th and it became "PAID" on the 17th and DS-260 became available at that time. So since you paid yesterday, you should be able to fill out DS-260 tomorrow if nothing has changed in the last month.

Also, for AOS package, in my opinion, since nobody has yet reviewed it and they will simply send it back to you unreviewed, I'd add whatever new documents you think will help your case.

I don't remember for 100% where I got the number, but I think it was when I tried to access the online transcript and it failed 3 times in a row, I got locked out from the online transcript feature and got a message to call them. But for sure it was on their website, and I recall specifically that when I called one of the options was something like "to request your tax transcript, press 1" so it was a very smooth process.

I'll try to find the number and post it though.

EDIT: The number is 800-908-9946 and it's the one from the link Saylin listed few posts before.

Is it normal for the IV package to be approved and the AOS package to be reviewed, but the DS 260 to still be waiting to be reviewed?

Hi everyone :) my hubby just had his medical today. I'm sure he will write about it when we get out of London! Everything went well. Nothing to stress about :). Funny thing- I got a phone call from the NVC for my supervisor call back from a month ago. She asked how his interview went. I laughed and said our interview wasn't for another two weeks! Then she asked if we had any questions... Nope. Then apologised for the delay in the phone call. Um yeah, massive delay lol. I asked if there was an issue with our case and she said it was fine. Ok peeps :P. silly NVC. Anyways I will catch up with VJ later tonight :). Eating now as we haven't eaten all day! Good luck everyone!

Thanks everyone for the replies. Here is hoping that the DS-260 wait time has not changed much since you all paid the IV fee. I agree with your instincts that updating the documents and numbers for the AoS makes sense. I just dont want to burden my parents much more since they already went through a lot getting all of the documents together in the first place. They live in the states and I am in Japan so everything is rather time sensitive so they have to really rush sometimes. My dad is the join sponsor and my mom is a household member with income so they need to provide current pay stubs and everything. I messaged them about this 2 days ago but no answer yet. I guess they have other things to deal with.

Anyway, I am going to prepare for all possible scenarios ASAP so that I can provide a packet that reflects either the updated or previous packet and also try to keep contacting NVC periodically just in case. I know skype may not be the best way but the call credits are really cheap from overseas and since I have no job right now and wont until we go back to the US, spending a lot of money on long distance rates when spending nearly an hour or more just on hold for one phone call makes me much more willing to just keep trying rather than spending the money on long distance cell phone calls.

Anyway, thanks again everyone. I know a lot of people in this thread have been suffering for a while and I feel bad since I have been more fortunate than others to bring my wife to the US, but I honestly hope you all achieve your goals very soon!

They always say they are reviewing the documents. IMO its an easy answer to give (and I guess an honest one as well)
