Any good news?

basically.. AOS is approved and the IV package.. they just need to review the 261... I thought that they would review the 261 with the IV package.

But but but but I just clicked on the link in your signature wahhh!

I will go check my timeline to make sure I didn't make the same mistake on there with 260/261 eeek! I have seen both those forms and they sure are very different!

Edit: I don't see a 260 option on the timeline.. there's "receive ds-261 and aos bill" then there's "submit 261" but no "submit 260"..

The link in my signature goes to the old request form. You can find the link to the new request form on the first post of this thread, or on the new layout on the spreadsheet.

And no, there's no DS-260 option on the timeline. Unfortunately, the timeline needs a major overhaul as it's wrong/missing stuff all over the place. Doesn't even show when case numbers were assigned.

###### there was this option as well! Then we wasted 2 weeks to get transcripts for nothing :(saylin u should add this to ur wiki!

It's on the IRS website. There's 4 options to get your tax transcripts: online, mail, in-person, or fax.

Just got done catching up on 11 pages with a 2-yr-old on my lap (not an easy feat at all!). Too cute, she giggles and points to all of the emoticons as I scroll through the pages.

Nothing has changed with my AOS fee today. Can't face calling, will wait until later in the week if still no change. It's funny that I am getting more calm about it now. It's like the grieving process, I think I have come to "Acceptance".

I have gone back to may old job after a 6-month secondment and my workload is crazy right now, so unfortunately I can't check VisaJourney during the day, so I will only be able to catch up in the evenings. But, I promise I will be cheering you all on and will hop on as soon as I have some good news to share!

Am happy for your new job, it will keep your mind away from NVC during the day. Am sure one of this days, you'll come back from work and find out you already have a case complete.

Is it normal for the IV package to be approved and the AOS package to be reviewed, but the DS 260 to still be waiting to be reviewed?

sorry, I meant they need to review the ds 260.. not 261

Thanks. Not scared exactly just wanting to not be obnoxious because I got through the USCIS part really fast so I want to be sensitive to those who have waited longer. There is a strong possibility that we will face a long wait somewhere down the track too. Who knows?!

Awwwwwwww you are so considerate, I just love it. You consider each and everyone's feelings. I wish and pray you get thru NVC speedily :luv: :luv:

Sorry to hear of this heartbreaking delay, especially considering the horrendous delays still to come after submitting IV docs and after CC for Egypt applicants.

Please join me in calling on everyone waiting idly to get their IV fees unlocked to get proactive in preparing the documents and information necessary for IV packets and DS-260 forms. Collecting them could take weeks and weeks!

I completely agree with you MoBar65!!! I thought the Interview waiting time for Egypt went down? Or maybe it was only that month when people were getting interviews in Cairo about 2mos after CC?

FOR ANYONE OUT THERE FILING FOR EGYPT PLEASE MAKE SURE TO START WORKING ON GATHERING ALL OF THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION SO THAT WHEN YOUR IV FEES ARE UNLOCKED YOU HAVE EVERYTHING READY. AND REMEMBER....READ SAYLIN'S WIKI AND THE DS-260 SAMPLE. IT WILL BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

Anyone here with two cases at NVC (i.e. wife + stepchild)?

Mine and my daughter's cases were linked by NVC last month.

Hubby was able to pay my daughter's IV fee last week and I filed her DS-260 form yesterday but mine still not available. I called NVC and the rep Olivia told me its linked only to have the interview at same day (I thought we would have everything released at same day)

Can anybody share their experience with two cases?

Thanks!

I can't seem to get through NVC phone line. I was able to get through in the past weeks, and it usually takes me about 10 minutes before they put me on hold music. I am calling from the Philippines using Skype, and it appears that NVC phone number is "invalid"??? I am not sure if there's something wrong with Skype or NVC is just really super busy. I tried calling DOS, but they told me they can't answer case-specific questions. :'(

3 and a half hours since NVC opened. I have been calling fairly constantly only stop for 2, 30 minute periods to watch some shows but have been mashing the call button ever since and still no luck getting through. I wonder if they keep a list of numbers that have recently called and give priority to those that have not called recently somehow....? I called yesterday at 8:00 and got connected almost instantly.

Anyway, the main things I am wondering that I want to ask them could perhaps be answered by some of you, and I would really appreciated it if you can.

I paid the IV fee yesterday. Lately, how long is it taking for DS-260 to become available after paying it? It still has not cleared my checking account. Should I expect the whole 30 business days for that as well? Since the rep said my documents wouldnt make it in time for the interview, I initially figured it would be ready in a few days. Then I thought about how long it took to get the IV fee to come after DS-261 and now I wonder if I will actually have to wait 30 more business days even though we have an expedite. If that is the case, then I actually might get my documents back on time since I have to wait for DS-260 to be completed before even scheduling the interview anyway. So I dont even know if I actually need to start preparing a brand new AoS package from scratch or not, even though I have already begun doing so.

I was told by the NVC rep yesterday that I may need to re-create my entire AoS packet since the documents I sent most likely wont make it back to me before the interview. What I forgot to ask was, should I keep everything exactly as it was when I submitted it to NVC or should I change things to reflect the past 2 months that have happened since then? Mainly, including more recent pay stubs and recalculating income values based on the new ones and changing the multiple I-864s that we are submitting.

Last thing I wanted to ask them was, do I need to re-create the entire I-130 packet that originally came to NVC from USCIS again as well? They only mentioned AoS since they had it on file and didnt review it yet, but they said it would take until Sept 10th to even send that out to us to bring to the interview. Are they just going to send the I-130 earlier somehow and find the time, or should I expect to send that as well?

Everything is so confusing and none of this is in any wiki I could find....

My AOS package was scanned July 7th. As of 2 minutes ago, there is no progress on it.

The rep I spoke with told me to wait 60 days from July 7, but the email we received a couple of weeks ago said to count from June 30 (the date of receipt).

3 and a half hours since NVC opened. I have been calling fairly constantly only stop for 2, 30 minute periods to watch some shows but have been mashing the call button ever since and still no luck getting through. Everything is so confusing and none of this is in any wiki I could find....

I can answer a couple of these. First, I have never had very much luck connecting with Skype or Google Voice. I get through much faster on my cell phone. Since time is of the essence for you with your expedite, maybe it would make sense to call from a regular phone, even though it is an international call? Just a thought. :(

It took 3 business days after the date I submitted my IV payment for the DS-260 to become available, and it was toward the end of the day. (This was nearly four weeks ago, but I suspect that the times haven't really changed for that interval.)

In regards to preparing a new AOS, it makes logical sense for me that you would want the information current as of the date you sign the document, since it's a contract with the US government. I would therefore update your information accordingly.

I don't see a reason to re-create the original I-130.

I'd guess that the reason none of this is in the wiki is that expedites are relatively rare. You're a trailblazer! Good luck.

It's too late for you Jeff because you already received your transcripts in the mail, but to everyone else who does not want to wait two months to receive their IRS transcripts, just call them up and ask to have your transcripts faxed to you.

When I originally called, I didn't have a fax number (didn't know that was an options but the agent suggested it), so asked them to mail it. But the same day searched online and found out that you can get a fax number for free 30 day trial, so I signed up, called up IRS again and gave them my fax number. The agent said it will take up to 48 hours to get my transcripts by fax, but they actually came within 2 hours, all 3 years of transcripts. Printed them out and sent in with my AOS and got accepted without any problems.

The ones ordered by mail arrived some weeks later...

Where did you even find a phone number to call the IRS? I scoured and scoured the web, the number I found for requesting tax transcripts was only a voice automated menu, I tried every option, I even tried pressing 0, could not get to a person no matter what I did.

That is great information to pass along to save others the grief those stupid tax transcripts gave me!
