I also thought it wasn't fair because my partner and I live overseas (in Canada), but our case wasn't auto-expedited since we applied in Oct, 2013.

Then, I realized that life isn't fair (so is immigration) so I had a cocktail and got over it.

Alcohol has become my best (the only?) friend since the immigration process has begun!

Yeah i know... life sucks sometimes , just wanted to vent a little.

hahaha... i have a lil friendddddddddd....its a GREY GOOSE..

It'd be best if you asked this country-specific question in the regional forums as you'll likely get better responses there.

I think (and its just my own opinion) at the very most they will ask you to find a joint sponsor if Mumbai consulate doesn't like what they see.

By the way do you know the scan date of your AOS?

thanks Indiandude1111,

i agree with you but shroud i try with assets and income first or just get co-sponsor before interview? i want to know if people using assets and income got approved at Mumbai or not? Because i do not want to take risk and further delay. i want to go with safe option.

what is scan date? My AOS packet reached NVC on 6/13/14. they are taking almost two months for each packet. we are looking at least 3 months of review time for AOS and DS 260 combined.

GUESS WHAT??!! I just got the 60 day email. It would correspond with them receiving my AoS package last Friday. So, I think that they are scanning it in and I'm more convinced that them doing ANYTHING on your case is one of the things that triggers the 60 day email.

Don't get discouraged by the 60 day email!!! They are working as fast as they can!! (It just happens that as fast as they can isn't very fast, hehe)

Seems like they are doing EVERYTHING but doing final reviews for CC. Really upset here. Been a month since they got my IV package.

Likely just one more month to go!! It's getting closer and they'll be picking up speed here so hopefully it won't be the full 60 days. Keep your spirits up and look forward to that CC!!

can somebody please tell me, how long NVC is taking to scan/enter form DS-261 into their system? We submitted our form on July 18th and I called NVC to check with them but they do not have into their system yet even though we have confirmation number for the same. They asked me to wait for 30 business days before it is reviewed. Ok I understand but why is it not in their system yet? Reason I am worried is after submission, an hour or two later I accidentally reopened it  (showed incomplete) but then I just clicked next and next, I don't remember resubmitting the form. But since then it shows complete. Do I need to be worried? :(

We hv done ds-261 on june 13 and got IV bill on july 20th.

We hv done ds-261 on june 13 and got IV bill on july 20th.

It is currently taking the NVC 30-60 days from submission of the DS-261 to invoice the IV bill. Some are getting done quicker but a few people here waited nearly 60 days.
