I'm the lady you're talking about and I wasn't originally referring to a supervisor review.

When my case number was ready, I got an email with not only my maiden name (which I'm not using at all) but it was spelt wrong. I emailed them back with a copy of my passport the next day asking for them to correct my name.

However, it seemed my name wasn't wrong in the first place, because a few days later, the DS-261 was ready and my surname was fine. I think the agent who sent me the case number couldn't read properly.

A couple of weeks later, I got two emails from NVC that were near-duplicates stating they'd updated my name and that they'd received my DS-261 and would send the IV invoice to my agent. I believe updating my name (for no reason, as I found out) reset my DS-261 waiting time.

I'm not entirely sure my theory is right though, because NVC insist they got my DS-261 on June 2nd every time I call. They also say they received something from us on June 17th, but we haven't sent anything other than the AOS which was received on a different date. June 17th was when I got the emails correcting my name, so I guess they can't tell the difference between packages received and emails they send out? :huh:

Sorry for all the troubles you had to go thru, I guess they need proper training and orientation and they shouldn't just mess up with our lives because this process is already a long one. I pray you get your IV bill soon.

Sorry for all the troubles you had to go thru, I guess they need proper training and orientation and they shouldn't just mess up with our lives because this process is already a long one. I pray you get your IV bill soon.

Eh, I feel better knowing there might actually be a reason we haven't got the fee yet, rather than just thinking they forgot about us :P

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Maybe NVC reviews checklist documents faster if you have a lawyer? :huh2:

Do you have a lawyer, USCIS2013 since you paid both the AOS and IV fees together? :huh:

I remember ArthurandMarcela's lawyer (paralegal) forgot to include her marriage certificate so she got a checklist. She sent the marriage certificate and got a CC in a week! :star:

I am so sick and tired at this point..feels like if is just me or what!!! It's our 1st anniversary tomorrow..& I was hoping that I'll hear the good news this week and here I just received the email from NVC about the wait time being 60 days now..#######....so sick of NVC...I'm at work and now my mind is all messed up..I'm so so sad today :(

Don't be disheartened…i just say (a few pages back) that June 23 case got approved and got a Case Complete --- I think you should be through in a week or two at the latest. Fingers crossed. And have a very happy anniversary!!!!!

I'm so frustrated with this process. I just sent a letter to my congressman to see if they can get NVC moving. Myself and my kids are USC and I have already secured a job in the US. It seems ridiculous that the IR1 process for my wife should take over this long when illegals are walking across the border and receiving benefits. I should just drive her to the US and get her knocked up!

Agree.

I left that group a few months ago therefore I'm not able to see anything. But if this is the same letter as the one posted here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/508457-lengthening-wait-times-letter/page-1

it needs some serious tweaking before it's ready to be sent out.

TSA, ICE and FEMA have nothing to do with the backlog and if the claims about DACA getting preference are going to be the highlight of that letter it would be a good idea to provide some data to back that up.

If not mistaken I think they are no longer going to continue the DACA program at least it's what it said in the news.
