It has been said many times on Visa Journey that do not plan anything about wedding before visa in hands. Many people had done before, lost their money, and rescheduled their wedding plan again.

The approximate processing time from NOA1 to NOA2 is 5-6 months. I have read that some processed through TSC lately were going for 6-8 months for approval. This is without the NVC processing, medical and embassy interview. The latter 2 timing depends on how your consulate set interview schedules. It could take an additional 2-4 months more from NOA2, and this is without the extended (dreaded) AP period.

It's understable that you guys planned ahead, but you have planned for it too soon and without sufficient buffer. As Girl from Celebes mentioned above, the general advice here on VJ is to not book tickets or set wedding dates without the visa in hand yet. I guess, best to inform your guests soon that the wedding date will be moved before they book their own flights, etc.

It is unlikely you will have the wedding in September. The best advice would be to cancel your current wedding plans, let everyone know who you sent the invitations out to, and just WAIT until you have the visa in hand before making new wedding plans.

I see the same question (and mistake) being made by so many K1 filers.

There is no guaranteed processing time, and any hiccup (RFEs) can add

many weeks or months to the entire processing.

I filed in Dec/2013, and I am hoping she can be here in September.

I think your wedding date is at serious risk (like 99.9%),

so you should probably start your mitigation plan.

Cancel the wedding. Then follow the advice given by the US government, do not make any plans until the visa is issued.

Emphasis above is mine; just to clarify, this is not VisaJourney advice, this is USCIS/US government suggestion/strongly worded "DO NOT DO THIS WE WILL HAVE NO SYMPATHY IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO US" advise. All the forms, everything, tell you not to make any non-refundable plans or arrangements until after you have the VISA in hand.

Even if everything was going best of, the chances of March to September being possible is pretty slim. Given that TSC is not operating at maximum efficiency, you'd need a miracle.

Cancel your plans, contact guests and apologize, and set up for your wedding after you have your VISA in hand. You have no way of knowing what kind of requests for further information may happen, or how long you may or may not sit in administrative processing. (There are people who have been in AP for 6+ months hanging around on VJ.)
