Hi Everyone,

Just a little vent because, well, just because this is so frustrating.

Why is the NVC so messed up right now? We were approved through USCIS in early May. I called NVC to see what was taking so long to get an email and they said it was scanned in on May 21st, and it would be 30 business days. I think I talked to that jerk Parker someone mentioned a few days ago. He wasn't so nasty on the phone with me on this call, although I felt rushed to get off the phone, but I has waited 45 min to talk to someone so i had a lot of questions. This was June 12th.

So end of June rolls around and I call back and get the same guy I talked to originally. This time he says 30 business days from the day I called the 1st time (june 12). I said nooooo, you told me 30 biz days from May 21st when the petition was scanned in and he argued with me to the point that he put me on hold about 2 times in the middle of me speaking and pretty much yelled at me. I asked to talk to a supervisor who was nice, and about 2 days later we were able to pay the AOS bill and my hub submitted the DS261.

I overnighted the AOS after paying the bill and waited about 2 weeks to call. I called and talked to a really nice guy this time. He said they just scanned in the AOS...it took over a week to scan in something I overnighted. UGH.

So, then of course the guy said it would be 30 biz days to get to reviewing the AOS and the same for the DS261.

We can't even fill out the DS260 until the bill becomes available and that won't happen until they review the DS261. It has like 3 questions on it!! I asked why it took so long to move past the 261 and he said that this 5 min process (his words) is now taking 30 BUSINESS DAYS. WHAT?? :wow:

Needless to say this is very frustrating. To top it all off my husbands contract in Japan is now ending and we have to change the embassy from Japan to his home country of France. Another process that is going to elongate this process.

We applied in November thinking this process would take less then a year but it is not looking likely. I asked the last NVC guy when we would likely get an interview if we are approved and he said probably November. This is putting our lives on hold!

Is there anything else I can do to get this moving? I have called NVC about 4 times to check on things, but I don't think that is helping at all.

Is anyone still waiting for a case complete? I think I'm the only one waiting and my case number was assigned April 29, this is so messed up. I'm still waiting for 2 checklist responses, that were delivered to them by the end of June.

At least now he won't have to get his birth certificate, French police certificate translated...If it is not yet done!

We thought ahead and had things translated already. Luckily the police certs we had to get were in English already :) and we heard the Paris embassy is very organized so hopefully getting the interview will go smoothly. Happy thoughts all around. I suppose all we can all do is try to be positive. Best of luck everyone and thank you for listening to me.

While case number and IIN is available at NVC, we have already completed I864 form for AOS and we have all supporting documents ready. We are going to file all my spouse's -the US citizen- tax returns (1040 forms) for the last three years 2011, 2012 and 2013, but I have a question, for this 2014 my spouse has only income from a Spanish employer. Do we need to include it as current income in the I864 form? Does it make sense? Supposedly this income will not be real any longer when we entry in the US, cause he will be quitting his job by then, but it is a current income in fact....I would appreciate your help....

I believe you have to put income from a US employer only as current, so to answer your question I think the answer is no. I made some money this year in Japan (jan-march), and I answered my income currently as being 0. I am using assets only to support my husband. So I showed this but as for current US income it was 0.

Hello All,

It has been 3 months since I got my case number and still no IV invoice, I am really tired of this process. me and my wife can not take it anymore, I am leaving oversease tomorrow to stay with my wife and daughter untill the NVC start working on our case. 14months + since we started this process and still do not know when it is going to end, I quit my job and put my education on hold till who knows when. I am really frustrated right now, but what can we do!!! goodluck everyone and i will try to keep you updated if anything happen (internet slow oversease),,thanks

I am really sorry to hear this lottry. I know how u must be feeling. We are all in the same boat. These little steps make us happy at Nvc but then again there is long waiting. Since u have already quit everything so u should go but please don't give up. U have come a long way and so have all of us. I m sure we are gonna make thru real fast!! Good luck! :)
