Number 5 is your income, number 6 is only if you are using anyone else from your household's income. Since you are not using anyone else your household income would just be yours, as the other numbers would not have an amount in them.

The instructions are referring to Part 6, not question number 6.

Have you called to verify cc/interview yet?

My husband phoned when I was sleeping last night and apparently yes, it is CC!! But they didn't have an interview date for me yet.

Thanks for the follow up. This site and it's members has been a saving grace. :-)

Thankyou joanderson! I m still in shock that how come I got it quicker. But it's pointless anyways becasue my Pcc was sitting with me for a week and I didn't mail on time so this lil stroke of luck didn't do me much good due to my fault. But hopefully we will send them our package by this week. I m sure u will get urs very soon!! Call them up and complaint.

Correct! I've also read that the "translator" cannot be the petitioner or beneficiary. But I can't say that I've ever heard of that being a legitimate problem for someone. Also, it's not like anybody is going to call up the "translator" and verify their translation qualifications... if you catch my drift....

I hate to be like this, but it's actually been 29 biz days since June 3rd. That being said, it's still a really long #%*@&$*%( time to wait for a stupid fee! The good news is, tomorrow you can call them and really get on them for not following their 30 biz days rule, and they can't just tell you to wait 30 biz days. ;) They have to come up with something else to say!!! I know how it feels, it really sucks, but call them and see what's up tomorrow.

On another topic, has anyone living in Australia used their home as an asset for sponsorship? Just wondering if you had to pay for a valuation (I have been quoted $440) or if the consulate accepts an appraisal from a real estate agent (this was free).

We included our house in Australia as an asset (with a note to say it would be rented in the short term and could easily be sold within 12 months if required) and didn't have any issues with NVC. I sent a lot of documents and covered all bases:

- Rates notice (to confirm property ownership and title deed particulars)

- Real estate agent appraisal

- A copy of the title deed

- A formal valuation report

I sent the appraisal and valuation because I happened to have both, but I think valuations are better as they are significantly more detailed in terms of the individual property rather than the market in general which appraisals tend to cover.

I work in a Bank and we do residential valuations pretty regularly. I would say $440 is a bit steep but depending on the number of valuers in your area that may vary. I would expect to pay $300-350 for a residential val. Shop around a bit if you can - most valuers will match quotes. Opteon and Herron Todd White are pretty reliable.

Neither the petitioner nor beneficiary can translate a document!? :wow:

I (beneficiary) translated a document (which I haven't sent to NVC yet). Should I ask my friend to translate it for me then?

NVC really should state who can translate a document. It doesn't really state much on here. http://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-and-fees/general-tips-assembling-applications-mailing

Thanks for the advise Soloenta, thanks for caring

I called them, a nice woman answered, told me that the check list has two points regarding the filing tax for the year 2013 and employment status for the petitioner.

I told her that in the original papers (that I sent before) I clearly stated that the petitioner is unemployed. Also there was an attached letter that clearly explains that there was no 2013 tax return filed since the petitioner is unemployed.

She advised me to resend it again and use a black pen on all the empty fields that has to do with the Part 6 with N/A. And so I did. Just came back from DHL. Should be in NVC next Wednesday noon.

Maybe I should either call a supervisor, or send an email to nvc inquiry.

What do you think? Will that make it faster if they recheck my papers and see for them selves?

Or should I just wait for at least one week to get my new I864 scanned and another 5 weeks to be processed

Holy cow they are so nit picky it's infuriating, I hope they don't take the full 30 days. I would call when the AOS arrives wait one day then call. Not sure a supervisor can help but I would try. Good luck and please let us know what happens. I'll be praying on my side all goes well. (F)(L)(F)
