Oh wow. What about if he has family here? Can they petition for his visa?

It has to be about bonafide love & not just a visa or GC

9 mths ago? so Y not meet in Mexico or Bermuda?

Nigerians needs visa to many countries including Bahamas

you have to meet & have pics with both of U together, boarding

passes to show where you met and hotel receipts if you both vacationed

together.

Ok I'm looking to see what options we have available. We both are new to this and didn't know it would be such a challenging task to be together. I appreciate everyone here. I've felt so alone dealing with whole process, but I won't give up. God allowed us to meet for a reason and our dream will become a reality!

Ok that's why I think our only chance is for me to travel there. His mother is deceased, I've met his father, sisters and brothers online and talk to them all the time on the phone etc. they love me and have no problems with me. They are very nice people.

regardless of visa type where YOU are the petitioner -

you MUST meet face to face, in person, prior to filing the petition.

There are 2 options - 2 visa types. that's it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes I know. I'm planning on just going there. I'm applying for my Nigerian Visa next week. Can anyone tell me if I'm required to go to the Visa place or will they just mail my Visa to me...

Going to Nigeria is a wise decision. I'm glad that you decided to go instead of meeting elsewhere.

It varies from country to country. Some require you go to the Embassy to apply, some don't. Check out the website for Nigeria and they should have a very thorough explanation of what you need to do to begin your tourist visa process.

Hello Meka,

First welcome to VisaJourney. For a Nigerian Visa, you will want to go to the Nigerian Embassy website, here: http://www.nigeriaembassyusa.org/index.php?page=visas Scroll down to "Requirements for Nigerian Tourist Visa", and it will tell you all you need to do to get a Visa. For Nigerian visa you do not have to go to the Embassy to apply for the Visa. You can apply either online, mail, or in person.

Also if you are a member of Facebook, consider joining the group "American women Married or Dating Nigerian Men" and/or "Foreign Queens and African Kings". This is a closed group where you can ask questions, as well as learn the process from others that are in the same "shoes" as you are.

God Bless and good luck.

Toni

I'm glad to hear that you are planning a trip to Nigeria, as you need to meet in person before any applying for fiance/spousal visas happens. You mentioned that you two don't have a lot of money. Just keep in mind that the visa process is not cheap, and it doesn't end with just the K-1/I-130 application. If everything goes through, you will need to apply for AOS, ROC, and ultimately naturalization (if he wants to become a citizen). Take this time to get to know your guy and his family in person. Start saving up, and definitely read up on the requirements on VJ and the Nigeria forums. You'll be in a good place if you do that.

I am 37 so yes. Why Mexico?

Google countries a Nigerian doesn't need a VIsa. Barbados is one. You could meet there . No one says you have to marry. But being divorced with kids nothing says commitment like being married. And you can get married there or anywhere on earth. The main thing now is meeting.
