Timeline

Very disheartening phone conversation with the NVC this morning. 1) Still no IV invoice (they said it should be next week). 2) Although our AOS was emailed on May 21st they didn't actually actually accept it until June 13th, meaning electronic processing saves no time. This means that even once we are allowed to pay and send the IV documents we're looking at 6 weeks from when they are sent before they will get to them. 3) This makes me pretty sure that any hope of an August interview is out and that I am looking at a September interview.

This causes major problems for me because I have to leave my job next month if I would like to move prior to January. So its either live apart until January or live without a job for 3 months....

2013: Sep 09: I-130 sent (Phoenix lockbox)

Sep 20: I-130 NOA1

2014: Feb 26: Transfer to TSC

Mar 18: NOA2

May 9: CASE NUMBER

May 12: DS261 available and filled in online.

May 13: Sent EP enroll email

May 20: AOS finally shows as paid

May 21: AOS emailed

May 21: Accidentally re-submitted DS261 :(

Jun 09: EP Enroll confirmation email received

Jun 13: AOS entered into their system

Jun 26: IV invoice received and paid

Jun 26: IV package sent

Jun 27: DS-260 submitted

Jul 3rd: Re-sent IV package (NVC messed up and deleted my email)

Jul 8th: Scan date

Aug 22: Case Complete!

Oct 10: Interview

When was the last time you (or your husband) called NVC? It can take hours after the case completion for the AOS fee to change to N/A. Also, it hasn't happened with everyone's case. I think it would be a good idea to call, you may be surprised :)

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

Agreeing with the above, petitions filed from abroad have been approved pretty quickly recently, so you might get lucky after all OP :) Here's the thread for June I-130 filers: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/500107-june-2014-i-130-filers/ That'll be the right resource for you while you go through USCIS. We look forward to seeing you back here post-NOA2!

Thanks for the reply BOS_LHR and TM713,

I am seeing that other filers from abroad have gotten receipt notices almost immediately, which is troublesome. I know everyone feels the same.... but it seems like my case would be a ^no brainer` :)

Does anyone have any shortcut phone numbers for USCIS? Or should I pass through the whole operated system? Any pointers when calling?

Thanks again

I found a couple of old threads where people were checklisted for signing the AOS with blue ink. Is this still an issue? I feel like blue ink would distinguish the signature as a signature, but I certainly don't want to be checklisted for something as stupid as that. (I know Saylin advises blue ink...)

Petitioner and Beneficiary both live temporarily in France, no DCF
