I was digging around yesterday and found that the government made an award to the contractor that staffs NVC, Serco, for additional services this spring. Whether that means they're increasing staff, paying for OT, or something else entirely, I don't know... but they're throwing more money at the people who are taking our calls.

Edit: in case anyone wants to see, that award info is here. Not practically useful but I thought it was interesting.

i find this interesting too

For all those looking for flights (now or for the future), I find the "google flights" has really good fares... the best I've found, at least for us from the Caribbean to the US west coast. At the top of your search results, it will even give you suggestions on how to get a cheaper flight (i.e. leave a day later or leave from another airport nearby). It also has a really awesome calendar that has a graph at the bottom showing which days have the lowest fares for the selected route, which is good for us because we won't have to leave on any specific day after we get the visa, just which ever day has the cheapest flight!

You can find it at https://www.google.com/flights/

Enjoy! I hope it helps someone find a cheap flight!

I'm on hold... 25 minutes and counting.....

Send some luck over to Collegeville.. I REALLY need it !!

I know my mail was scanned on the 8th but there are so many crazy things going on with my file, I feel the need to babysit. AND if it was transferred to the review dept on May 21st, how long could it possibly take?? If they can scan new mail in 2 days, they should be able to fly through the reviews... Just sayin'

I know I am asking too much... 11 months at the USCIS wasn't enough.. They want to hang on to my file for some dumb reason.

i remember your post the other day from the supervisor... he said that your case will be held as long as there is pending mail, even if it's "complete". do you think that is still true?

I really wish the best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!

You are not asking for too much at all! for obvious reasons, now asking for what's rights seems like they are doing us favors! We are not asking for favors, we are just asking them to do their jobs right. very simple!!!!!!!!

Yep, asking too much !! Talked to Jean.. she gave me the "30 days for review" HUB BUB. Everytime I call, the operator makes a comment about all the entries for my file. Jean laughed at the number of supervisor reviews... All I could say was "NO kidding" She said she understands my frustration...

But that was it !

I still have that red message since yesterday. I wonder when they will actually invoice me....

Few ppl said it should change in couple hours but it hasnt changed yet..

I know there is nothing to worry, as few people already mentioned thats OK as stated in wiki and i even called to confirm. But still annoys me to see that red boxed message!!!

tell me about it. my wife got a copy of the marriage certificate and is DHLing it to me to send to NVC. but I wonder if the supervisor review is successful for my original certificate, will my case be delayed until they open the mail and see another marriage certificate?

i really thought i was going to get a CC this month... wife was extremely disappointed
