no, we did not, and i barely called them, so i think the more hands off approach might help them just get on with it, who knows.

Sorry :( i noticed quite of a few of you said the same thing and it made me feel bad- a little.

Maybe it is because ours was a checklist for a document not previously asked for- as in it was not a mistake on our part or them losing something- they just wanted more info, so it was very simple, also another reason we seemed to jump the line is maybe it makes a difference that we have a lawyer sending it all in with their coverletter etc.. not sure - seems there is little rhyme of reason.

I don't think it has anything to do with easy or difficult. They review mail by the date received. I think someone just picked up the wrong box. The same as when I got my case number the same day my case was received at the NVC. I didn't have to wait 30 days for a case number. I paid my invoices together and everything was complete and sent in within 8 days. They didn't like my husbands birth cert so here we wait...

My lawyer sent a cover letter too. I don't think that makes a bit of difference. And calling once a month or 4 times a day doesn't make a difference either.

Its all just LUCK..

They are backlogged. If they are trying too control the workload by delaying the invoices etc... then the least they could do is review the mail that is waiting.

Bulwara - you are near Sydney? So your home state is NSW? If so, you need to go to your local police station and request a fingerprint check. You need to put your Case Number on the request for a police certificate, and have the correct address for the Sydney Consulate so you can put it on your request form.

Your police report will take about 4 weeks and will be sent directly to the Sydney Consulate.

I live in Adelaide and got Fingerprint police certificate a couple months ago and they didn't need a Case Number. Just ticked box that it was for US visa. Good luck.

And our lawyer is great - and she made no mistakes. But NVC made mistakes and has penalized us with more than a month of delay. So yes, it is the system that is unfair.

Hi

I am still very confused about the whole process, and still after reading Saylins wiki I just cannot get my head around this whole process (and it makes me feel dumb)

Here is where we are at.

We have our case number, and we paid the $88 fee about a week ago. After a few days of waiting, I worked out where the AOS forms (I-864) were and we printed them off.

Now it seems that seeing both my wife (who is the USC) and myself are both together in Australia, we are very confused as to what we are meant to do with Part 6 of the form. She is currently employed in Australia, so should we be filling in Part 6 with her Australian income and job?

Will this income be taken into account?

It makes sense that it doesn't, but I can't find anything that tells us one way or the other.

The other thing I can't find any information on is when I am able to pay the Part IV fees. Am I able to access whatever form I need to complete before we pay this fee, and what things will I need to lodge with the fee (like a police certificate, and can I get this now or does it have to be obtained within a certain timeframe in regard to the filing of my visa application).

its not going to change. It is a new format they just rolled out.. So far, everyone's says N/A.

I agree, it seems to be taking longer for those invoices, even for people to access the DS261. How frustrating for everyone!

Congratulations for your CC and interview date!!!

We sent checklist reply via email (EP) on April 30th but still no response. NVC is approving paper based cases of May 6th but have not uploaded/reviewed our email of April 30th. Did you do EP or snail mail?
