Hello guys

i applied on the 13 of this month for a B2 and i received it the visa on the 14 ( yesterday) valid until 2024.

i want to know why ppl get denied at the port of entry, can i extend the initial period we're given ?

and also if our i-130 is approved should i come back to my home country or i can change my status ?

The B-2 via is for you to visit and go home. It is not an early way to immigrate to the US.

It is illegal to enter the US on a B-2 nonimmigrant visa with the intent to immigrate by adjusting status.

At the same time, the immigrant intent of an Immediate Relative of a US citizen is not a bar to adjust.

You can apply to extend your time in the US. You must have a valid reason. The extension can be denied.

You can file to adjust status as soon as you pass customs because of your US citizen spouse (and immigrant intent not being a bar to adjust).

IMHO, you have a legal path to the US which is quick as the spouse of a USC. Don't complicate things. Have a wonderful visit and return home to interview for your visa.

What did you tell the CO as to the purpose and length of your trip? Are you 'changing your mind' before the ink is even dry on your visa?

i'm not trying to immigrate or jeopardize my pending i-130 i have legitimate reasons to go the US and i have no problem going back to my home country

i just want to be advised if my i-130 is approved and finalize, what should i do ?

Hello Guys,

I have a B2 Visa valid until 2026, going for medical and meetings my wife's family in the US, i have statements from 2 different doctors saying that i need follow-up, i already have a scheduled appointment with a doctor in California and medical insurance coverage, a sponsorship form i-134, bank statements, letter from my wife taking financial responsibilities and also i do have a return ticket for a 6 months period starting friday the 11th which is my flight date accompanying with my wife .

is there any other documents i need to take with me to have more evidence so i wouldn't be turned down at the port of entry ( IAD Washington )?

I am also going to visit my husband in the U.S this weekend and I read on here that someone got denied entry, now I am freaking worried and stress. I have docs that can prove that I am coming back like job letter, itinerary round trip and etc.

Do you have a job of any kind back in Morocco? At POE they typically want to see you have a reason to go back home when you say you will. And is your wife accompanying you on both legs of the trip? If they see your USC spouse is coming and going with you (matching round trip tickets) they won't be nearly as suspiscious.

Ties to home would be good (job, family, property you own- ie reasons you will go back home after 6 months.

Proof you can afford to live in the USA for 6 months without working, and can afford/ have the medical treatment sponsored.

Also, I believe the max stay on a tourist visa is 180 days, NOT 8 months (6 months is a few days more than 180 days), so that could be an issue if you are cutting it fine.

and yes it's 2024 my mistake.

i have a return ticket for less then 6 months, 5 to be exact and also the reason is to go back for my master degree

i have medical insurance and a joint bank account and yes i can afford living in the us for the time requested

what should i bring more ?
