We just moved out today. Anyone is entitled with their own opinion. Im actually the daughter so im sorry if i put immature stuff like the name and i dont know. Im just 19 helping out my mom

Abuse is a terrible thing. Might be safest for you and your children to leave by taking them back to the safety of your family in the Philippines. Start divorce proceedings from there. Its very unlikely your spouse is going to chase you across the globe to continue the abuse.

A husband comes home drunk and his wife yells at him, the husband slaps his wife. She calls the cops and they come and lock him up for 14 days. Leaving the wife and kids at home.

Seem situation but the wife is from Thailand. The cops come and take the wife and kids to a safe shelter.

Don't buy a gun or any other weapon.

Why is it that every time a spouse is abused they are advised to leave the home and seek a safe shelter. Isn't it more ideal for the abuser to be made to leave.

If you leave, the abuser ideally doesn't know where you are so can't continue the abuse.

If the abuser leaves, they know the other person is still in the house, except now they've been kicked out of their home, which they in all likelihood pay for, so they're pissed off and pretty likely to bust in and get real horrorshow on someone.

My first spouse was arrested for abuse and served with a restraining order. He proceeded to attempt to enter the home (I had changed the locks), drive by repeatedly, come in the middle of the night and look in the windows, etc. The restraining order is only good if they are caught in the act or if you have serious proof they have violated it (such as pictures). Better to hide and wait for things to cool down.

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
