Hi Everyone,

Just got off the phone to NVC and got told case complete as off 11th March - Whoo Hoo!! Told the lady I spoke to that she had made our day!! Called the wife and gave her the good news - so happy!!! No Checklists at all!!!

One thing the lady did tell me is that we have to wait for an interview to be scheduled which I understand, but she did add that the London Embassy is still scheduling April interview slots!! So hopefully we should get a late April or early May slot!!! Which is fantastic news!!

Good Luck to everyone and I hope you get a speedy and easy passage through the NVC phase.

Chris & Silvia

When you send something you should receive: Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center (NVC). This e-mail is an auto response. Please do not respond.

We review and reply to e-mails in the order they are received.

within 5 mins of sending it. Then they send you an e-mail once they've officially logged it.

Hey Sashy,

You never mentioned you got an email auto response from NVC when you sent your AOS. I swear this process is making me loony. Is this right? OK so let me ask again? So you got an automated response first. Then you got a response in 19 days? is this correct? I never got an automated email after I sent it.

Thanks in advance

I just received an confirmation email from NVC regarding an email I had sent them on February 25th. So one can assume it takes 2 weeks to hear back from them if you are doing electronic processing....

Hey Christopher,

I didnt see the earlier posts before I sent an email to sashy. I am going to resend my email too just to be safe. I dont feel like waiting another month or longer to realize that they never got my first email. This process is trying to make me certifiably insane.

I called NVC to ask about the AOS & IV we sent them, the rep. told me that my AOS has been reviewed and completed and IV is also under review. He told me to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the review and that they are working overtime and also on Saturday to clear the backlog.[/quote

Glad u completed the aos without checklist. Did tey said to you that only this saturday or untill the backlog is finish?

Well i didn't ask if till when they're gonna work overtime but in my understanding they just wanna clear the backlog for now, that's why they are working overtime and on Saturdays. It means they are gonna work overtime till the backlog is clear :)

I think this fact needs to be added to post two and also to the montreal and EP wiki's because I read through all of that and never saw anything about waiting to submit the AOS packet until after the EP Confirmation was received. All I see is to send the AOS after the AOS bill is showing paid. If the operator already has our email address from the phone call telling us the case number then why cant we send AOS and IV packets via EP until after we receive a confirmation email 2 weeks later? We might as well just do snail mail and not even opt in for EP since those AOS packets are received and confirmed by NVC over the phone within 3 days.....

Hey Guys,

I agree with Christopher. I read and reread everything and didnt see this in the EP section. Also, I just checked my email after sending it again. I got an automated response this time. So go figure. Perhaps my first one was never received. And maybe it was. I just dont want to take a chance. For all the people that miss their loved ones so much or are super paranoid - I suggest the snail mail route.

I cant wait to have the discussion with my wife about submitting the DS-260 and scanning her docs- yeah right!

Good luck everybody

false checklist because they logged ur iv package into their system or was it reviewed that quick??

I think it's was because they accepted the ds260. It said they received the form but they don't have the documents. But i already sent them.

1) If I want to file tax return as MFJ than Do I need ITIN number or I can just put NRA on it. And any other requirement from wife to fill as MFJ....

2) how about MFS.. what's requirement from my wife , sign or ITIN number , anything ?

I do not have much time to sign any kind paper from my wife who lives in India.

I chose to do electronic processing so that I did not have to mail my documents to the NVC, not necessarily to save time. It has always taken the NVC 2 weeks to respond to emails.

I had my documents scanned before the NVC process ever began. What else would you do during the wait time??? I never understand why people do not know exactly what is going to happen at the NVC and how or why they don't have their packages together before they even get to the NVC. My husband slowed everything down with his AOS documentation even though I bugged him about it, but it likely only changed my interview date by a few days at most.

It is a good idea to nicely suggest to Saylin to add the part in her wiki about not sending until the ENROLL is accepted. I know there are posts on the subject, as I've written some of them and in her wiki she includes an OPTIN acceptance letter (when it was OPTIN not ENROLL).

Please only hit post once.

MFJ requires an ITIN or SSN. MFS only requires NRA in the SSN spot. BOTH require you to postal mail the return.
