It looks like it is taking a month to get a case number for the I-130 after its received by the NVC... But what about the K3? For people who filed the K3...... How long did it take to get your case number and for the embassy to receive your file?

I can't stand when NVC blurts out some stupid ridiculous timeframe for receiving files via DHL. I was told 8 weeks just to receive the file from TSC. I just want to reach through the phone and strangle them.

hi guys .. just started following this topic ...

just got this email today ..

On March 26, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

pd : 9/11/13

transfer date : 2/26/14

Noa2 : 3/24/14

can you please add me to the spreadsheet ...

Thanks ....

Added. Was your case approved from NBC or was it transferred at some point and approved elsewhere?

And please update your timeline. It says you're going through Armenia...

Saylin......I got my case number tonight from NVC. Could u pls add it the spread sheet. many thanks

Grats, updated!

Ms. Saylin: DS-260 submitted today. IV package submitted 3/26. Please update my records in the spreadsheet.

Updated. No need to quote me replying to someone else by the way :P I read every single post. Quoting me doesn't make one tiny difference.

I thought the cover letter was only for those who mailed their documents to NVC, then I got it that those doing EP can also include a scanned cover letter. I went back and read what to do if sending the two packages together, thanks  . About the nothing needs to be changed if the IV package is mailed by the petitioner, I remember someone asking about a couple of pages back and you telling them to make some changes, what changes and where I can't seem to remember. silly me, yes I have been approved from NSC and not NVC, though I wish, all three are so similar, NBC, NSC and NVC.

In your case it's fine, as the beneficiary is sending the package to the petitioner who is then forwarding it to NVC. The other case, the petitioner was sending the package and putting everything together. In that case, I suggested changing the wording, so that at the bottom, instead of it being the beneficiary's info, it'd be the petitioner's. But it honestly doesn't matter whose info is at the bottom. You're way overthinking this.

WOOHOO got our case number!! I got through at 7.04 and was talking to nice lady by 7.10am.

Her post reads as if her husband is filing one petition. If that is indeed the case then they should be listed on part 3.

It would then be correct to include them in 5-1 as long as they are not listed on a separate visa petition.

This applies to all immigrants the husband is sponsoring who are immigrating within the 6 months of principal immigrant.

family.png

and now i got so confused. situation : husband files 3 petition (spouse, 2 minor) . #1 "yes" and also checked #2. and wrote children names on 2.a and 3.a /// . he filled out i864w for the 2 minor.

grrr....im so confused.....how can he count the 2 minors? and in # 7 it asks "total # of immigrants you are sponsoring from items 1 through 6 .

You too! It's never easy being away from your loved one(s) but even worse when you're dealing with the insanity that is the USCIS. I have to say, at least the NVC seems to be a better and more responsive organization.

Agreed. The operators I've dealt with have all been professional and courteous, some of them extra helpful and friendly, and the quality of information they can offer is so far beyond Tier 2 at USCIS. We can get actual case updates now! :o I also seriously appreciate that they saw a problem with their workload and took immediate steps to get things back to normal. There are still some wonky bits -- mostly, NVC's computer system leaves much to be desired -- but at least the staff seems to be on the ball. Makes a nice change!

Get your SHI! together NVC!!!!!!!!!

the guy I talked to told me if the K3 gets there first , they will send it out to the embassy. Its so strange that they are holding it for the I-130. It all depends on who is receiving the files I guess.

He did tell me that if they search the system and see you have another file with your name on it, they will combine them. Maybe those losers are searching for your I-130... do you have a case number for the I-130? Maybe when you talk to the supervisor... you can ask them to just forward the friggin K3 . this system is so stupid. Why even bother having the K3 if you don't foloow the procedure anyway? Seems to create much more work for the officers adjudicating it, the NVC who processes it and the embassy who is supposed to interview. SOOOO dumb. If they would just process your K3, it would free up some time for someone else who only filed the I-130. Sorry.. just thinking outloud ( haha)

I already called NVC twice today:

The first time I was told I-129F is on hold because of I-130.

The second time I was told that the it is not the case and the I-129F will be sent to the embassy. When I asked the lady on the second time what the firtst rep told me, she said that she could've made it up. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the supervisor confirmed that the I-129F IS NOT on hold because of the I-130 and that I will be sent to tembassy for further processing after undegoing necessary admin processing.

Who to believe now? NVC expedite told me (in an email) that it takes 2 to 4 weeks to send a K3 to the embassy. So, I'm on the third week now, 10 more days to go and we shall see

total #######.... its like USCIS all over again.

I'd say get the Senator involved but my rep told me the I-130 takes precedence and not to expect the K3 to go anywhere.

I still think it is case by case and I am still holding out for the K3.

2-4 weeks is stupid too. Unless they hired Horses at DHL.

Last time I did the K3, it only took a week for the file to get shipped out after it was received by the NVC and I was able to track it by DHL to the embassy. It took 2 days. It also depends on how many they have to ship to that particular embassy. For the countries what have tons of petitions, that could be the reason they are holding out. For a small country like Costa Rica, I doubt there are many to send at one time. I guess alot of things come into play. I'm praying for you. You are one of the reasons I stay subscribed to this thread. I spend most of my day deleting notifications.
