We are on the process of filling up forms. Our attorney sent again an email to my husband requesting to send to him, the ff.

He submitted our Affidavit of Support to the National Visa Center yesterday, March 6, 2014.

At this time, he needs the ff from us

1. Original marriage license;

2. Two (2) passport photos of (my husband);

3. Two (2) passport photos of (me);

4. (My husband's) original birth certificate;

5. (My) original birth certificate; and

6. (My) police certificate (available on the 26th March).

And how come he could fill up (AOS) form and not IV. I already sent him an example form for him to copy for my IV form. I do not want to do it coz I might make a mistake. That's why we hire an attorney to do this job.

Please give me an opinion regarding this. I might be wrong that I should really do it and not our attorney. Thanks in advance.

I was under the impression that Mexico was required to EP. However, my case number starts with CDJ, and it doesn't appear under the "mandatory" category for EP. Does this mean it's optional for my case or should I mail everything in?

I just called NVC and was told that Mexico is no longer doing EP. Does anyone know of there is any truth to this?

I've not heard anything about this at all. I'd suggest calling back up and speaking with another operator.

ekec, have you gotten any further in your investigation about the EP process for Mexico? Last I knew it was mandatory EP, but that CDJ instead of MEP is making me wonder. Since I just spent two cups of coffee worth of time reading 67 pages here, I'm hoping to cheat off your work. I'm all Googled out for the moment. sleepy.gif

Guess today was my day. After weeks of trying (100+ redials last week Wednesday alone) I FINALLY got them a while ago. Took me 49 minutes on hold but got the case number. Sheesh..now to move on in this process. At this rate the delay doesnt even matter as we are going to wait on the 2nd anniversary August 10th before I enter. I am in the USA until May and so it will be two months apart but well worth the permanent card and less stress to adjust.

Your lawyer is supplying the incorrect information to NVC. None of that from husband is needed it was already submitted when you filed the I-130. The IV is all about the Beneficiary.

Maybe there was an issue. IV should be there if you had lawyer and he sent the form when you filed so NVC would have invoiced both AOS and IV bill.

And I-864 (AOS) isn't online. He will mail that in.

Just FYI so no one else makes this mistake...On the I-864, part 6, #13.a, I made the mistake of putting my income from my w2 forms and will receive a checklist in the mail soon. I was supposed to put the amount from line 22 of the IRS tax forms. One simple mistake.

I was informed of this today when I called to inquire about the AOS packet. I corrected it and resent it.

Whats's the average amount of time it takes for them to review the info when it's a checklist?

I am hoping for a may interview as well -

our consulate is canada and they seem to book interviews 4-6 weeks after case complete. Then its time for my canadian to put in notice at work (after visa in hand, of course!) and roadtripping across the US. Which is gonna be really fun. Gonna visit friends all across the states - most of them have not met my husband, so it will be fun for them to meet smile.png

Best of luck, lets keep each other posted on the developments.

Suffice to say, I said one or two curse words...not very appropriate coming from the HR Manager of the company tongue.png

My fee was debited from my bank account yesterday, so hopefully will show as paid soon.

I got straight through to the NVC this morning and was only holding about 10 mins and got to talk to my friend Todd again smile.png. He remembered talking to me and we are on first name terms now hehe. If any of y'all get to talk to him, he's a wealth of information, won't rush you and I got some tidbits of info today. There are approximately 60 phone lines at the NVC. 2000 files approximately, arrive daily at the NVC and are processed through the mail room by x-raying, testing for chemicals, and assigning a bar code and then it goes to a separate building where it is stored until requested. He said that the storage building next door to the phone center is amazing with just wall to wall files as far as the eye can see.

With regards to my Dads case number being changed, it still hasn't been and still shows as a pending request for the supervisor to do it. My AOS arrived yesterday by USPS but is still not showing in their system on their end. Likely still going through the mailroom. He said the IV fee is being invoiced approximately 5-10 days after completing the DS-261. There has been a backlog but they are getting through it now.

I would love to follow a case file from USCIS all the way through the NVC to the embassy just to see how it is processed. I think it would be interesting.

The most incredible post I have read on Visa Journey. Thank You for taking time to share this.

Other than post 1 and 2 of course smile.pngsmile.png

I can't take this any more, NBC took away 300 precious days of my life and TSC's topping =another 30 days after approval

And now all I see is another % €£¥₩ long wait. @ NVC ?... ₩£€€%÷×

I know. I can't even.

At first I thought January 2014 was a generous guess of when we'd get the visa. Then I thought March 2014. Now I'm thinking July 2014. I swear to god if I have to wait longer than July...ranting33va.gif

PS- in somewhat annoying news my friend who petitioned for a fiance visa 5 months after I sent in our petition has her fiance coming to the USA today. It's like rubbing salt in the wound.
