That's not the case at all...They work in batches. When I was waiting for my interview, it was very few K1's being interviewed. It depends on when you apply, get approved and the details of your petition. Some cases are more difficult than others and take more time. I've been in this process for almost a year. It just takes patience you...you will soon have your interview and be with your loved ones. Also, keep emailing the embassy. I emailed them and gave them a timeframe of when I wanted my interview and they scheduled me for 2 weeks after my interview.

CR1 or K1 we're all at the mercy of immigration waiting to be reunited with our loved ones. I've learned that the process can be long and frustrating, it requires A LOT of patience. I filed for a K1 visa a year ago (February 27th last year) and I am just now reaching the finish line of the first step.

Like Blakcajun said, just keep contacting them to create a sense of urgency. All the best and keep us posted.

No offence, but you sound like USCIS official. And yes it's true K-1 visas are processed quicker. I think that it's absolutely unfair!

It's still unfair! I wouldn't mind to be in the States while waiting for green card.

K1 visas will always be processed quicker than a CR1/IR1 visa. The reason behing it.. a CR1/IR1 visa is required to file the Affirdavit of Support at the NVC stage.

K1 visas skip that step because they submit the Affirdavit of Support after getting married, when the file for Adjustment of Status.

Comparing or expecting K1 processing times to be equal to CR1/IR1 is unrealistic.

USCIS official Cute!!! I've been a full year in this process. Once we get our visas we have to file for green card and wait some more while you all get your greencard at the same time. Fairness has nothing to do with it. I researched the best way to do this process and found it's best to get married in the states. The choice is open for all. Good day

thanks for your reply. you are a K1 so u can email the embassy but i am a cr1 so do u think i can still email the embassy and let them know when i want my interview? I thought in a case like mine, NVC is the one who issue us the interview date.

Thanks for replying to my post as well, what i got to understand is, when ever we keep contacting NVC or show them some form of urgency/write letters, they spite by sending check list stating that something is missing even when they receive everything.

No NVC Schedules your interview, so contacting embassy will have them tell you to call NVC.

The first thing you learn about this process is that the whole thing is unfair. They process K1's fast while sitting on CR1's, they process files out of order, some people get sent to fast processing centres some to slow. Just gotta not get too frustrated with it or you'll go mad!

USCIS is faster with the K1 visas because they make them more money. Plain and simple.

You also will not find CR1 visa interviews on the same website as the K1 interviews because it's possible that K1 can book their own interview whereas CR1 need to wait for the NVC to book the interview based off of when the embassy or consulate opens up dates.

There is nothing in immigration that is fair. But it's a privilege not a right.

As soon as you take your entitlement out of the question, stop saying you deserve this, that, or the other thing, and start saying instead that you're grateful for the privilege, you'll find yourself in a happier place. This is a year or two in a lifetime with a spouse. Is this other person not worth this time and effort? Yes we all want to be togther, otherwise we wouldn't be going through this process. But this 2 years for immigration isn't your lifetime, it's just a process you have to go through. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck but it does mean you should always remember it and be grateful when you're finally together all the time.

Just my 2 cents anyhow.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss
