I called NVC today to see if a case number had been assigned to our case. My NOA2 was 29 February. So, it's been 1 week since approval. The customer service rep said that it can take 35 days to get a case number....business days!! She didn't really want to look, but took my receipt number, no case number yet :(

I thought that was a bit long....I'm going to call again Friday. Just going to keep calling twice a week until I get my case number.

Does anyone that was approved around the end of Feb or early March have a case number yet???

I got noa2 on 29th march. Called last week and they said the same thing and didn't receive our case. Will call this week!!! All the best ?

Our I-130 was approved on the 4th February, we got notification on the 17th February of this and it had been sent to NVC the same da from Nebraska, I called NVC the following week, spoke to a rude woman, who really didn't want to give me the time of day, in which she told me, no case number assigned yet allow 42 days for them to do this. I called the very next day, got a really nice guy who was so helpful, told me we had a case number & IIN number, gave them to me over the phone and proceeded to explain to me in depth the next steps and how we go about doing them. And now we are just about to ready to submit everything...yay!!! So I would keep calling.

15/09/2012 - Married ?
Spent the last 2.5 years travelling between countries & deciding on where we are going to live...USA IT IS!!! ??
28/09/2015 - I-130 submitted

04/02/2016 - Approved! NOA 2 received via text

18/03/2016 - Received and paid IV Bill

18/04/2016 - Resent required documents (had to wait a week for new police certificate)
20/04/2016 - 2nd scan date for RFE documents

it seemed like forever for nebraska to approve my I-130. just hang in there guys, the NVC experience so far has been much better. I am thankful for this forum so joined today to post about my experience.

so basically i was notified in january 7th that my 1-130 was approved, and then on jan. 14th it was being sent to the NVC... so i waited 2 weeks, actually traveled to brazil at that time with my husband who has been staying with me on a tourist visa for almost 4 months. I spent a few weeks in brazil and left him there to finish the process...he is still there but now has his interview scheduled.

anyhow, after 2 weeks, i called the NVC while in brazil and asked if they had assigned a case number and invoice number and the lady on the phone was very helpful and gave me both just like that! Then I immediately went to the state dept website to begin paying the AOS and IV fees... took me another week to complete both of those. Now things are going much faster which helps.

i have no idea why nebraska took so long. fortunately the NVC is much more efficient for my case. good luck everyone!

Thanks. Now waiting for a case number. People at NVC are so mean :( everytime I call they're literally yelling at me. They get so mad that we dont actually wait 35 eff days as they say and instead call every two days. Well they better beg for a bag of patience because we've been waiting way too long already. Ugh excuse me guys just tryna let it out. How is everyone doing here anyway?

You filed in July? That's ridiculous that you are still waiting. I checked on the app today and they are approving November 20-23 right now.

Have you contacted your local government representative?

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Wow this Nebraska thread doesn't fill me with hope, but at least it looks like they have sped up from a year ago. We filed via the Chicago lockbox and were advised by email this morning that our application has gone to Nebraska. I checked the USCIS timelines and they say they're processing September 2015 at the moment so my fingers are crossed that they are speeding up!

I hope to join you all in celebrating each step in not too much time!

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

September 2015 is the official line that they give, to show that they are within the six months that they are supposed to be within.

Looking on the app, over the last two days Nebraska has approved a huge number of petitions that were filed between November 20 and 24.

This forum represents only a small number if people going through the process. Not everyone who files is a member of VJ but we can get a good idea of dates from our group here. Many November filers have been approved lately.

The last time I called USCIS and asked them about the Sept 2ND date. The guy told me that the Sept date means that they have finished all the petitions that had dates up to that point. But recent petitions are being approved as well. So we are literally in the any day now pool of the stack.
