I am beginning to assemble our i-129f package. She is emailing her forms to me. But the "Letter of intent to Marry" requires her signature. What is a good, fast way to get it here? Is there an acceptable way for her to send it to me electronically? Snail mail from Kazakhstan can take weeks!

The signature must be original, meaning she has to send you by mail the letter with her signature on it. She cannot email it.

Your mileage may vary on this, BUT I emailed a pdf, had my wife sign and scan it and send it back. I submitted it with no problems whatsoever.

HOWEVER

It does say it must be original so I don't know if we were just lucky or what.

Perhaps with a really good printer, they can't tell it's not original? idea9dv.gif

Thank you!

Also the G325A form should be signed also. Use FedEx

FedEx is the next best option, but it costs 50 bucks our so.

When one looks forward to the total cost to bring a foreign future spouse over and the costs associated with assimilating them into the US culture and the education and living expenses required, the cost for expedited shipping is miniscule.

The Letter of Intent and the G-325A both require original signatures.

I emailed mine to him, had him print it, and sign it and date it with blue ink, then he DHL'd it back to me. Used blue ink to sign just a a precautionary measure.

DHL quoted me $110 for a single letter !! Does anyone know WHY they want original signatures? This whole K-1 process COULD be done electronically. Why even have us MAIL in the application?

We had some discussion on this the other day. It's hard to know for sure whether they will accept or not. I couldn't find anything that specifically said it must be an original hard-copy signature. I don't think it's worth taking the risk. Even if it's $110 usd you must consider that it's your future on the line.

the letter can be a copy (ie emailed and printed) but their signature on the letter has to be original. That was my take on the Copies portion of the instruction of the form.
