Hello everyone, my husband has already been interviewed for his green card. He received a RFE shortly after. We haven't turned it in yet. Anyways, he applied for Advance Parole with a receipt date of November 27th. That same day we bought tickets to Mexico with a leaving date of February 28th. Still no Advance Parole in sight and the online case status still in initial review. We paid $700 for those tickets we don't know what to do. PLease any advice on how we can get this Advance Parole going ASAP or expedited what can we do or who do we call ? were desperate we only have 2 weeks before our leaving date .

At this point I would suggest you set up an Infopass and try and get the AP in time for your flights, if you don't want to cancel the trip altogether.

Really i can do that ? What will happen there might we get an Advance Parole on the spot? Thank you.

Yes, you can set up an Infopass and they may be able to let you know where your process is currently; and if they can issue the AP sooner. There is no guarantee that you will get them to issue the AP but the sooner you find out the better of you are in case you need to rebook your tickets.

Wow thank you thats what sucks that we didn't purchase insurance for these tickets so we would lose our money all together then we wouldn't be able to travel for a long time because we don't have that money available at least not for a while. Were really trying to figure out what to do .

You can still do two things:

1 / Keep checking for Infopass appointments. Something many open up if there are cancellations.

2 / Call the airline and check what the penalty an the deadline are for re-booking the tickets. You will not get a refund but chances are you will be able to book the tickets to a later date and pay a fare difference in addition to a re-booking fee, if you take action with sufficient notice.

Thank you i will keep checking. In the mean time I'm calling the Airlines and see if anything can be done although i had seen that there was no refunds i might be able to re book ill see. thank you.

You can try calling and requesting an expedite but if this is just for a vacation then they likely won't approve it especially if you haven't responded to the RFE yet, booking a vacation less than 90 days after filing was a mistake and I would highly recommend trying to rebook it to a later date.

You know that AP takes 90 days, yet you plan a vacation less than 90 days from when you apply for AP.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

I live in Orange County and I couldn't find any appointments for L.A., Orange, Riverside, Ventura, nor San Bernadino counties when we needed one in November 2013. Found an appointment the next week in Imperial in San Diego county, a 2+ hour drive each way. Small office, no one waiting and we got what needed. We were travelling the following month so it was worth the drive.

Actually i calculated it for exactly 1 day later than the 90 days because i saw that most people received their advance parole under the 90 days. Maybe people will see this as an example.

Really was the appointment for the same reasons as ours?

Call USCIS and ask for an expedite.

The US does warn applicants not to make travel arrangements without the proper paperwork in hands.

Hopefully, USCIS will be able to help.

Thank You, my husband is not here he is the applicant, last time i called when he wasn't here i think they told me they couldn't talk to me about it unless he was present, does that sound familiar to anyone?

Your husband is the applicant for the EAD, so he has to contact them.
