I received an RFE that says I need to submit more evidence of a bona fide relationship. Problem is that we were only together for a week after we got married and we have absolutely nothing to provide them. I sent them photos and two affidavit letters from people who attended the wedding. I'm doing my taxes hopefully as married which includes my wife. I hope that will work as more evidence. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

did you meet her only a week before you got married or did you have an internet relationship? If you met online you can submit chats.

I know of a few couples who met online and only met face to face when they got married. They got approved no problem

where is your file being processed?

If you made trips to visit her prior to getting married, you can submit passport stamps, receipts (if any), etc. Things that you have documenting the relationship before you got married will help to prove that you have a bona fide relationship. How do you communicate now? Even if it is over the phone you can send phone records showing when you called her. They are not only looking for time spent together, but evidence of an ongoing relationship even if it's not face to face.

Unless your wife has a SS# you have to file Married Filing Seperately but then that requires you to include her income......way big hassle. Dont rely on taxes as bonafides.

you have an option of filing jointly without the spouse having a SS#... please dont provide incorrect information.

there are 2 routes that can be taken, a foreign income exclusion or foreign tax credit depending on where you live and which works out better. you cant take both routes though.

but bonafide... i gave them 70 pages randomized through word of our 1 years worth of chat logs and printed them out. also pics, and plane tickets/passport stamps!

Is your wife listed as your beneficiary on anything, like your life insurance, will, or retirement fund? Are you listed as her beneficiary on anything?

I have read about people using receipts from gifts sent to the other, as well as money transfer receipts. I don't know if any of that applies to you.

2012: Married
2014 2016 2017: I-130 packet direct to Frankfurt

Frankfurt's "steps" to DCF:

Step 1: I-130 Petition Checklist (PDF, from their USCIS page)

Step 2: Immigrant/Fiance(e) & K-Visa Applicant Checklist (PDF, from their Appointment & Interview page)

I personally wouldn't give them this many pages of chat logs or emails. Send a page or so from the beginning of the relationship, then some throughout the middle and a page or so that's more recent.

I ended up sending my boarding passes as well as the copy of the Visa Pages, Some photos and about 40 pages of chat logs. Hopefully they won't get overwhelmed :P

I heard about a case where they sent three RFEs to someone because she didn't send enough chat logs.

The RFE also asked me for a copy of the original marriage certificate because they claimed I had only sent in the translation which is not true. I guess they misplaced the coy of the Original when they transferred the case to the CSC office.

God willing they accept it! Fingers (and toes) crossed! :)

Your case most likely will be approved few days after they receive the RFE. Receiving RFE doesn't always mean you missing documents sonetimes they randomly ask for RFEs to meet their job requirements.
