Im for capital punishment...i think that the punishment should fit the crime. If you kill someone, why should your life be spared?? thats my view of it anyway...

To these people, death is not a punishment.

Due to the following:

  • his refusal to recognise the right of the US to try him
  • his obvious lack of remorse (more like outright admiration) of the mass-murder of nearly 3,000

I would vote for capital punishment--with a stipulation that the injection contain a 0.1% solution of pig plasma!

Due to the fact that death is not a punishment to terrorist, I think he should be kept alive. We can provide him with plenty of meals (all containing pork) and when he chooses not to eat it, thats on him. Starvation can be pretty horrible.

Isn't death what these guys want? I say don't give him the satisfaction.

I agree. He may prefer death, especially if he thinks he will look like a martyr. If he is guilty, why kill him if we can let him rott in prison. Better yet, why not put him on death row for the next 20 years during the appeals?

Based on his conduct in court, consider him a "special case" and give him the following options:

  • (1) lethal injection with 0.1% pig plasma cocktail
  • (2) firing squad, with lard-greased bullets
  • (3) life sentence with all meals cooked in Tenderflake, soaps/shampoo/shave-creams made colonial style (with lard and ashes)

With the proviso that if he fails to choose within 48 hours,(3) will be used automatically!

Usually, I'd say I was for capital punishment....Len is right, there are too many prisoners having it cushy. they can go to school for free...get their law degrees, then turn around and sue the same system. Free health care, 3 hots and a cot...why I know vietnam veterans who are getting less than that & they are heroes?

I remember reading an article about Jeffrey Dahmer when he was killed in prison. Pull out the odd things from the next few lines:

When he was in prison, he gained 20 pounds (guess all that non-human meat is fattening)...he had taken up tennis to lose the weight. He also changed religions & was baptised in the prison whirlpool.

John Wayne Gacy took up painting on death row.

Anyways, despite that, I think the best course of action is to put him in gen pop, put out the word of who he is and what he's done, and let the rest sort itself out. Of course, you'll have special interest groups lobbying for his safety & for him to be 'protected'...but I think killing him is too easy...too quick. He need to suffer on a daily basis for what he's done.

Quite simply, how we treat the lowest members of our society says a lot about our moral and ethical values.

If this man is guilty he should be punished according to the law of the land. If they don't have the death penalty in VA, then he should be sentenced according to current law that reflect the nature and severity of the crime he is charged with. I don't see the need to create a special precedent just for him. Many people, I suspect just want someone to burn for 9/11. Revenge, not justice is at play here.

I don't understand the gloating that a lot of people seem to enjoy on this and other capital punishment issues, there's too much enjoyment in wishing suffering on others. Watched too many violent movies perhaps.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
