So I just got in the mail what I believe to be the NOA1. Only its from the California Service Center and not the Texas one that it was sent to; so I assume I was transferred. But it doesn't look like the standard NOA1 I usually see everyone showing.

It says Form I-797C, Notice of Action.

Then it shows my name and address.

And under it it says Applicant/Petitioner name and mailing address.

Then it says.

The I-129F petition for Alien Fiance has been received by our office for the following beneficiaries and is in procress:

Then it says my fiance's name, date of birth, and his country.

Then under that it says.

Please verify your personal information listed above and immediaely notify the USCIS National Customer Service Center at the phone number listed below if there are any changes.

Do I need to do anything after this? And is this the NOA1?

Please note that if a priority date is printed on this notice, the priority does not reflect earlier retained priority dates.

Yep, that's your NOA-1. Congrats! Now sit down and wait weeks or months until you get another letter from them. You can check your status at USCIS, but don't expect any news anytime soon. It's still a waiting game.

Completely normal and completely unreliable. Our file remained in initial review forever. It never did update even after the file was through NVC and sitting at the Consulate. It gives you somthing to do to go look it up, but don;t put a lot of faith in what you see.

sorry guys, I have one doubt. When we sent the package to Dallas we didnt chose any office. And I have been reading in this forum people saying they sent to Vermont/ California/ Texas and now I wonder if we did anything wrong.

I'm still waiting for the NOA1 sent Dec 23.

I guess you didn't read my reply to your thread yesterday afternoon.

This is it

By the way OP, your application went to the Texas Lockbox, not the Texas Service Center. All K1s start there, then get forwarded to a Service Center.

You weren't "transferred" like people talk about. That's when you start processing at California Service Center, then they send it to Vermont Service Center. A transfer like in people's timelines is between two Service Centers. You sent the forms to a lockbox (basically a mailroom). Your first and only Service Center is CSC. Edited by Nich-Nick

Hi - you're fine. You don't select the office that processes your case, the Dallas intake facility will make that decision. You will find out which service centre you've been assigned to when you receive your NOA1. The first 3 letters of your case number will read WAC (California), SRC (Texas) or EAC (Vermont - unlikely you will be assigned here though).

Good luck!

Your case file was not transferred. ALL petitions are mailed to the Dallas lockbox address. That is an intake facility and not a service center. It is also in Texas, but is not the Texas Service Center(different locations with different addresses). From there, all petitions are routed to a service center to be processed. Currently the two service centers processing the I-129F petitions are California and Texas.

Since yours is processing now at CSC just hoping you will get faster approval. But the bad news is, CSC is well known for being slow sent the approval petition to NVC. Anyhow, good luck for the whole process!
