I am from Nepal and my wife is permanent residence in United States. We did Court marriage married on January 17 in Nepal. She applied for I-130 on may and she received approval letter on November 1st. After that there is no response neither from Uscis nor from NVC. I saw orher peoples timeline where NVC have replied them in a month and issued vosa number in 40 days after approval letter is issued. But my wife havent got till today. When called to NVC they told to wait till 25th december? Is it normal or something bad is happening?

There is nothing we can do so far, just calling them each 2 day, never stop calling them, until they give you your case# and Invoice #,

your case should be already at NVC

Can you ask your wife to contact her congressman/woman or Senator and ask them to check on your case? My congressman is pretty good and they do a pretty good job of enquiring with USCIS/NVC. So you might be better off to get some response.

Infopass with USCIS is another option. It is a hit or a miss depending on the place you go to for Infopass.

whoa there.

Since yer wife is a permanent resident,

she needs to understand casefile movement based on the priority date on the petition.

It's going EITHER to

--NRC or

--NVC

based on that priority date.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

most petitions filed by a permanent resident in the USA

go to NRC, the National Records Center,

to sit, to wait,

until the Priority Date becomes current.

If you are moaning and complaining without knowing about the visa bulletin and priority dates,

well, I suggest to you , to learn more, here at VJ.

If she does not know then ask her to get to know them. :-) Looks like you are assuming that they don't give value to cases from Nepal than giving it a shot in the first place. Goodluck!
