Congrats to all that have been approved. We are still patiently waiting with a NOA1 of November 7th at TSC. I wonder why the delay. Who knows? I think so much of it is just random luck.

I agree. That, and some cases being more straightforward than others.

I think the fact that both me and my fiance have been married before, and have children, probably complicates things. Plus, I already have a Social Security number, so I'm sure they're checking up on that. And I've received money from the US because I write and have received royalties. It wouldn't surprise me if all this makes the background checks on our case take longer.

Still, it's so frustrating to see people approved who got their NOA1 after we did. :(

I want to agree with you 100% on the some cases being easier than others, but at the same time it is hard to because of my situation.

Diana is 24 with no kids no criminal record, I am 28 with no kids and no criminal record (maybe a couple speeding tickets at most) and our case is relatively simple and straight forward.

I think it is all just random luck and chance. I worked as a claims manager at Cigna before my current job and I can imagine that the process is similar to getting a claim, filing it and doing all the work on it. Some claims get pushed to the back and others get picked first, none of it really has any rhyme or reason.

I hope that it is determinate on straightforwardness because if so I should be approved already!)))))

Either way Diana and I are prepared to wait... We love each other ochen)

I've been married twice before, me and my fiancee have children, and there is an considerable age difference.. I'm 10 years older than he!,

I was sure him being African

( with all the scrutiny placed on the continent as a whole) and all stated above USCIS was going to delay delay delay investigate me until the cows came home, but, if they are just going by that simple form and you meet the requirements on the application, NOBODY should be waiting more than 4 weeks TOPS!!!

But, this is step one and the painful process ain't over until our loved ones are at our door steps! I STILL GOT A LONG HARD ROAD AHEAD!

Just glad I have you guy's to share it with ;)

It also depends on things like how unique your name is. If there are other people with the same name as you, it can slow the process, especially if one of those people has a criminal record.

21 Sep 2013 - Filed i-129F

27 Nov - NOA2 email received (63 days since NOA1)

30 Jan 2014 - NOA2 sent to NVC (64 agonizing days) P.S. Apparently VJ doesn't care about accurate timelines.

11 Feb - Got Case number

24 Feb - Packet 3 Received and Submitted

25 Feb - Packet 4 Received and Submitted

29 Apr - Medical (Dr Cheema)

01 May - Vancouver Consulate Interview - Approved!

06 May - Visa in hand!

06 June - Entered the USA!

14 June - Married!

My fiancé's name isn't common at all - he has one of those last names where everyone that has it is related. His first name is common enough. My names are all fairly common, some more, some less. So the name thing, while it makes a lot of sense, shouldn't be responsible for our delay.

Or maybe it's just that, like others have said, we can try and understand what makes some petitions get approved faster than others, when it all just really boils down to sheer luck.

I copied this from the NVC website about my case..Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

Does this mean we have an interview date? How do we find when it is?...They said they just mailed it out today so why does it say something about an interview already?
