Sorry if posting in the wrong forum but has anybody tried to write to CNN or Fox News to cover I130 delays and maybe talk to someone from USCIS to hopefully speed up the process?

That's the link for CNN:

If you know the place where to do it, why don't you do it?

I'm the beneficiary.

Filing for a USC spouse visa (IR-1/CR-1) and not sure what comes next? Check out the VJ IR-1/CR-1 guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Considering the general thought process I see in the USA is that immigration should take longer and be harder (mostly because ignorant people who have no idea about spousal or fiance visas...) not sure this would actually make it onto the news.

I agree. Americans generally equate immigrants with border-hopping Mexicans taking their jobs, so we will not garner much sympathy. One commenter on a news site I go to said they didn't see why a foreigner would even need to live with their American spouse, and should not be allowed to do so. They were upvoted many times. Gotta love people sometimes :D

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

People can be so ignorant about this process, and the person that made that comment has obviously never loved someone! It's very sad.

Well that's really cool considering, what, 90% of Americans are not originally from the US having had their ancestors immigrating? Great logic they have there.

I'm the beneficiary.

I'll tell you how you gather sympathy (or actually rather anger) for your cause. You turn the story around into a political football. This whole was actually caused by a program that Obama fought for called the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" or DACA.

USCIS completely botched the implementation and handling of about 527,000 undocumented aliens, that by no fault of their own, were born here by undocumented parents. If you want to get a fire started under USCIS's butt, read here and follow my instructions. Basically Republicans are always looking for a good reason to blame Obama for anything and everything. And even as a supporter of most of his policies, he blew it on this one. The Republicans can easily turn this story around from helping people like you and I get loved ones into our country to "Obama puts illegals in line before American citizens". And I can see them over at Fox (Faux) News have a field day with this.

Indeed.

As long as they don't decide to focus on the stories (plenty on VJ) of people being scammed into marriage for green cards. (Well, they'd still have a field day with it, just not the way people here want.)

I would be almost morbidly curious to see what results.

I think even if you could get a Republican news source to raise that banner, the Democratic knee-jerk reaction would be something along the lines of "Republicans making up lies, trying to confuse people about marriage visas. Of *course* all the Mexican spouses want to be reunited with their USC spouses. Aren't those most of our immigrants anyway?"

I seem to recall my inbox at one point getting a lot of petitions saying something to the effect of "the mean old Republicans want to repeal VAWA, a beautiful act that solely helps poor, defenseless abused women."
