i have Question Is it allowed to change your visa appointment location to other country??

We recently sent in my DS-260 online form and they emailed us to gathered all requiments such as Police Clerance / Marraige Certificates all original and they told to wait for after 30 days ... after Ds 260 whats the next step???
If im fotunate to get an Interview schedule is it possible to change Immigrant Visa Interview Location and do it in United states ? how?

, we filled my visa application in kuwait but now i moved to manila and now currentlly on vacation here in USA.i wish to do the Interview in United states since im currenly here for vacation.my case number is in Kuwait (kwt) but It will be difficult for me to go to kuwait for a Visa interview since im not residing there anymore and my kuwait visa expired aswell.

Your interview is with the consulate or embassy in Kuwait. Which is where I'm assuming you were residing when you applied. Did you change your address before you got to the NVC portion? Are you originally from Kuwait? I believe that your file is probably already in Kuwait if they've scheduled your interview. And your police records, etc. will be from that country. If your friend got an interview while in the US, she was going through a different process than you. She was having to adjust her status. You won't be doing that if you're going for a IR or CR visa. My understanding of the subject (which may be woefully incomplete) is that they expect you to wait outside of the country until you get your visa to immigrate. The fact that you're currently in the country on a tourist visa doesn't effect that at all. And they expect that you will attend the interview in the country you stated you were residing in.

Your best route is to have your case file transferred to Manila.

You need to call the NVC and tell them your situation and get them to change your country of residence. You're not going to be able to do your interview in the US to my knowledge. But you can always ask them when you call them.

Best to check with NVC, dear. IMO, your address right now in US is technically not your residence since you are only on tourist visa. Hence, you cannot request to be interviewed in US. And as far as I know, once you have been given a case number, the requirements will then be dependent on that country. And correct me if I'm wrong, Kuwait requirements  US requirements. Unless your files will be re-routed from (if it hasn't yet reached) Kuwait.

But wait ... You have filed for DCF. Then maybe it's a different scenario, as when the paperwork trail is just in US. Please fill-up your timeline, sis. How long ago were you assigned a KWT case number?

Going back to my first advice, it's still best to talk to NVC and do request to speak with a supervisor. Good luck!

Pretty much means exactly what he said.

The interview needs to happen in the country that you legally reside. If your information has been sent to Kuwait you need to contact either the NVC or Kuwait embassy and explain the situation and find someone that's able to help you out. Getting a case transferred can take additional months from what I've heard before, but it's the only way. It's my understanding they do not change interview locations because of convenience of tourist visa.

If he filed via DCF as indicated in his timeline, NVC will not have information on the case -- it would all be at the Embassy in Kuwait. I believe he needs to request a transfer of the file by asking Manila if they will accept the case.

Transferring a DCF case seems contra logical, can not remember it coming up before?

May be Lawyer time, my gut feel is that it would be easiest to go through with the original DCF.

No you can not interview in the US. But I would contact NVC and tell them you are back in your home country and change the venue there. But US no way. Call NVC.
