Any guesses on the lack of approvals for the past few days.

There were approvals. We just happen to be a very small sample to see any results. Just look at some adjacent receipt numbers.

Hot damn I wish I had this when I started on Monday doing it manually blows!!!!! These sequence of numbers look like some I have tracked.

It may be a similar sequence of numbers if your application is also located at NSC :)

Manually looking the numbers up was driving me crazy

I just did a test then, and it took me 3 minutes to look up 200 receipts. I had to take an internal delay off, and I know that I could do it faster, but can't really be bothered to code it right now :P

I really appreciate you writing this script. As a note, I also noticed that the receipt numbers seem to be issued in form order I130,I131. So once you hit a non I130, you can stop.

You're welcome :D

I hear what you are saying regarding the visa numbers, but I don't think that is exactly how they do it, thought I may be wrong.

From the larger set of 200 receipts above, I found the following (partial) results which shows some oddities:

[-] LIN1490053932 Request for Evidence On April 7, 2014, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in

[-] LIN1490053933 Initial Review On April 3, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, I

[-] LIN1490053934 > Not an I-130 visa <

[-] LIN1490053935 Post Decision Activity On April 8, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PE

[-] LIN1490053936 Post Decision Activity On April 8, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PE

[-] LIN1490053937 > Not an I-130 visa <

[-] LIN1490053938 Post Decision Activity On January 24, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT

[-] LIN1490053939 > Not an I-130 visa <

[-] LIN1490053940 Post Decision Activity On January 28, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT

So you can see how they are interspersing the different receipt numbers.

Anyway I'm getting a bit off topic, so back to our regularly scheduled program we go!

Ahem... hurry up USCIS.

Five people got NOA2 this week. Four filers from NSC and one from TSC. It was a slow week.

Oct approval stats as of today:

CSC: 67%

VSC: 33%

NSC: 52%

TSC: 22%

Total: 44%

It looks like NSC has been processing applications with later PDs first because NBC made a boo-boo and transferred applications with later PDs first to NSC. I hope I get NOA2 next week since it's slowly getting closer and closer to my PD (10/4). Can't wait! (literally) LOL!

Also, my husband insisted that the avarage 5months(NSC) has passed, but they said it doesnt.

It was so quick they got $420 from us but after getting money their working speed has been so slow.

No doubt that USCIS processing process is random. The I130. 9 digits behind mine received REF.

7 digits behind mine and mine too has not been touched.

but 6 digits after the mine has already been approved, April 10 :sleepy:

So like others here, i've taken to checking my case number on the USCIS website regularly, as well as those case numbers around me. I kind of got sick and tired of manuallly doing this, so I created a script to do it for me. :clock: What else am I going to do with my time while waiting for USCIS to get into gear?

For those technically minded I will have the code below, so you can modify it and run it yourself.

The output of the script looks like this (by the way that is just an example case number i'm using):

root@lappy:~# ./checkI-130.sh LIN1490053940 15

fun. Oh and before someone asks, as I basically made this for myself, I'm not planning on doing any up keep on the code. It is provided "as-is".

It is quite fun! thank you.

After downloading Cygwin twice... because I forgot curl the first time, it works.

another tool to predict the unpredictable. It is also depressing because I can see now the vast ocean of Initial review... :-(
