Hello Again smile.png

Well i seem to be confused about the process and feeling a bit stupid, dry.png I received our NOA2 Aug 9th and called the NVC today Aug 26th to see if they have it and was told that they did not have it and then was told it takes 8 weeks for them to get it. WHAT!!!!!!!!..... That wasn't what i read on the VJ flowchart. It said after 2 weeks of receiving the NOA2 notice to call 603 334 0700 to see if they have it. So i did and waited on the line for OH about 15 min and gave Abby the information she needed and she then told me that they don't have it and asked when the NOA2 was approved and i told her Aug 9th and she said OHHHH it takes 8 weeks before we will get it!!!!!! Boy was i hit by a shock and awwww bomb!!!! (can i say that) From what i read on the flowchart it said it takes 2 weeks or so and then things start to move faster. I am missing something here? How do i get notified that the NVC has our packet? then how do i get notifid that the Embassy has recieved it? I hope someone can helpsmilie.gif clear this up for me...

If the process is the same, we never knew when NVC receive it, we check the status in USCIS page and saw we had approved k1 by them... then we wait in average a month and my us fiance called uscis and they gave him the NVC invoice number and Consulate number, so i could start scheduling for appointments in my consulate... like a week after he receive the letter from my consulate saying that they were ready for my interview (but i save time calling USCIS for the required numbers to fill the 260 form in visa info page.

You could check with your consulate too in a few weeks, hopefully a lot before 8 weeks... :)

Hope someone correct me if im wrong, but is how it worked for us.

I love you Charles forever!!

From what I understand your status on USCIS should change to say the petition has been forwarded to the NVC when they actually send it. My NOA2 was Aug 6 and I still haven't even got that notification yet.

Does anyone know if it's possible for NVC to receive the petition without the USCIS status changing?

It seems we need to wait for a few more weeks !!!

Just hoping it hasn't sent to NBC.

Hi there looks as if we have very similar timelines ?

We got our NOA2 on August 7th from CSC and still they (NVC) still hasn't received our case :(

I call almost everyday and they say the same "up to 8 weeks" song.

This Wednesday will be 3 weeks since approval.

Hope so badly NVC gets our case SOON!

Good luck to you, Sheepwalk.....and all of us still waiting!

Hi FherJess, we have the same NOA2 date. Ours was actually approved on the 7th. It's funny USCIS changed the date on the site to 8th the following day.

Anyway isn't it great each of us don't have to deal with this uncertainty in our own small corners of the world? smile.png

Once the case is received by DoS, it will be sent out to local consulate in 1-2 days.

To have a guess as to when your packet was sent out, check out on DHL.com.

Found this thread, and it really works !

Hi there, form DS-157 is used when a foreign fiance is a man. Yes you can get ready for other forms, especially the I-134 and accompanying evidences such as tax return and employer's letter.

Other docs needed and possibly taking time to prepare is Police Certificate from countries other than your homeland.

Also the foreign fiance(e) can take immunization shots at a local doctor before medical check. Please double check country specifics for medicals.

Just to make sure, VJ Guide here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Congrats on your NOA2 and good luck !!!!!

Hi Everyone

Our NOA2 was issued on the 5th August from CSC and so like everyone else we're in the queue waiting for the magic number. Does CSC actually update your status to say if and when they have posted your stuff on to NVC or are peeps just randomly phoning in and hoping they have?

By the way, Good Luckgood.gif

Wow!!!!! this must be a new thing with the NVC, I was reading another post on here a couple days ago asking the same thing. We are all waiting and wondering what is happening...... I am going to call tomorrow and see what i can find out again. Lets all keep each other posted if anything happens. It is so awesome to have VJ friends go through this together makes it a bit easier knowing that we are not alone.

Good Luck to all of you waiting and i pray that it will go quickly for us.
