We have some good news to share :) We got NOA2 yesterday! So excited and happy! It took 49 days and the funny thing was I had a dream the night before that we get approved on the 49th day. Now the next step we are nervous about is the actual interview at the embassy. My fiancee and I want to have the interview together because I have been denied tourist visa in August and a J1 before that so even tho people say that won't matter to the K-1 visa we are still very nervous about it.

Approved in 38 Days! Fiancée received a text at 10:15pm CST that our status was updated. Checked the USCIS website and our petition was approved on November 8th!

Just an FYI, we didn't include the same-sex state where we plan to marry in our letters of intent but we did not get an RFE. So there's hope for those in the same boat.

Good luck everyone!

I still do not understand how USCIS works... haha... it is like a lotto.... you just happen to get lucky.... there is no point on "receipt" date if at the end they just process them however they want to... no emails for me yet :-( ..... and I guess nothing until Tuesday at least.... protest6wz.gifcrying.gif

@kmiami15

Lottery is right. There is no sense to how fast these adjudications take place. Some married folks processing their IR-1 or CR-1 immigrant visas complain about the speed at which K-1 fiancé visas are approved. I don't think they want to go down that road of length of marriage versus fiance as basis for getting priority adjudication. Are they even aware of how many binational same-sex couples have been together for many more years than some of them? And couldn't get married and have remained as fiances for years and years simply because same-sex marriage was not and is not recognized in many jurisdictions?

I get this feeling that you might get your NOA2 ahead of me. LOL

Hi, it's good to see you're moving ahead!

I sent copies of all of the supporting evidence (passport pages and photos), and didn't have any problems. The forms that you fill out, such as the petition and the G-325A Biographic Forms, should be originals (although my fiance's biographic form was scanned and it still got through). I also sent originals of our letters of intent.

Good luck!

haha.... well, I have said to my friends from here.... I am glad lots of applications are getting approved... I think there are some people here who have been together for lots of years and travel long distances to see each other therefore it cannot be that often... I am thankful that I can see my fiance pretty often.... so I am really happy for those people that it is about time they live together after so longgg.... I am just frustrated at the USCIS system... but been there done that... haha... it took my green card almost 5 years to arrive (after they made mistakes on their side) so I should be used to it... let see what happens but I am sure you will get yours fast because you already have an RFE so that means they about to approve it... I will keep you posted.... let´s see who has the winning number this week... haha....

Oh geez, kmiami15, you just made me remember all those years my fiancé and I had to travel thousands of miles 2-3 times a year just so we could physically be together. It was brutal.

But that's the past. We all hope to be reunited and living our lives the way we want to.

Since it took you 5 years to get your green card, what are you complaining about now? Hahaha, just kidding. You think we'll be getting NOA2 this week?

We received this email/text today and we were wondering if this is NOA2. Can we still get an RFE? how long do we wait for the appointment date??

Here's what we got:

pplication Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Testing and Interview

We got this notice on the 28th of August and got interview date on the 3rd of September. Interview was on October 3rd. Since you are Houston as well hopefully you will get the date soon. Any RFE should have been sent by now. Good luck.

I am full of happiness for those of you who are nearing the final step (and a bit jealous, too!). I'm at Day 125 for the I-130 (I filed the day after DOMA fell), and they are currently estimating an 11 MONTH (!!!!!) timeframe for this approval! For those of us who are married but still separated (gay AND straight), I hope USCIS starts getting its act together. It's been really hard to see 129F fiance/fiancee visas approved, while ours languish.

Keep those success stories coming. For those of you who are at the interview stage - PLEASE let us know what kind of questions you are asked. It might be different for those of you where both of you were already in the US. I'll be really interested in questions asked where the non-USC has never lived in the US before.

Hooray!!!

Hi Sukie,

Yes I agree I am so happy for those getting approved but I'm with you that the USCIS needs to get its act together... it's not fair to those of us that are already married (in my case more than two years) and we have many more months to be worlds apart :(
