Hi everyone. Me and my fiancee are filling I-129 F part B and here is what we wrote for question #18 :

Describe the circumstances under which you met.

We met online. I saved up thousands of dollars to be with her in person since she can't visit the U.S. I have been to Morocco in November 2012 and have tickets to go August 2013. I would visit more often if I had the money. We communicate daily via email, phone, skype, and instant messaging. Have tried visitor visa,DV lottery-none worked. Sufficient evidence will accompany.

Is this enough? Do you think we should add more informations? Do we need to add a separate letter where we give more details about the circumstances where we met? Do you have any samples to share with us?

Your opinion and advice are highly appreciated.

Kinda what gegel said. You do need to give everything at one shot though, you can't sent boarding passes and things at a later date unless they send you an RFE. Make sure you have a ton of proof from your prior trip, I know the money is tight but meeting once is good, twice is better of course :-) I'd say give all the proof you can because they will nit pick on details and its better to give too much then get hit with an rfe and get stuck waiting another 4 months for an answer. I wish you good luck!

Exactly! USCIS is interested in if you have met in person in the last 2 years.

Question 18 want details of how you met IN PERSON to satisfy the "meeting in person within the past 2 years" requirement.

I agree with everyone else, make it really short like one sentence, just detailing that you met in person once already and have tickets to meet again in August. Then add that more details are attached.

When I did my application I read somewhere about attaching a mini story of how you met and your relationship so far, as well as all the evidence of meeting and ongoing relationship that you can muster. So right behind the I-129 form I had a document in letter format titled "I-129 part B Question # 18 Supplement where I detailed our relationship and meetings, and then behind that I put all of our evidence (first of having met and second of having an ongoing, genuine relationship.)

Our application was approved so it seems it worked!

I can't figure out how to attach ours or I would give you an example.. sad.png

I can't upload the attachment for some reason but here is our text:

November 29th, 2012

I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18

Has your fiancé met and seen you within the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of this petition? Describe the circumstances under which you met.

My fiancé Rami Samir Ashamalla and I have met in person during two specific periods, having spent a total of about 7 weeks together. The first time we met was in mid-July 2012 in El Gouna, Egypt. Rami works for El Gouna Real Estate. I was living in Gouna with an Egyptian family for 2 months as part of an au-pair experience. I was hoping to practice the Arabic I learned in university, but unfortunately my host family spoke mostly English in the home. Rami introduced himself to me while I was near his office and invited me to eat dinner with his Arabic-only extended family. I accepted, thinking this would be a great language-learning opportunity.

This began a friendship that soon developed into a serious romantic relationship as we discovered many things we had in common and grew to enjoy each other’s company. In August 2012, Rami invited me to visit his hometown Alexandria with him. We visited his childhood church together, met many of his old friends, and stayed there with his mom and sister for a few days.

I had to return to America at the end of August to begin my final year at university. We continued our relationship though apart. Then, in October 2012 we began seriously discussing marriage with each other, our parents, our close friends, and our churches. On November 12th I went to Egypt for the second time for a one-week visit. During this time, on November 19th, Rami and I had an official engagement party. Many of his family members were present. We exchanged rings and signed formal engagement papers to be registered as fiancés at a church in Cairo.

I am petitioning for the K-1 Fiance Visa because Rami and I intend to marry summer of 2013 after I complete my undergraduate degree. We want to have two wedding parties, one in each of our countries, to more easily share our wedding with our families and friends. We also plan on living in the United States for the first years of our marriage.

I certify this is a truthful and accurate statement of our relationship so far.

"I would visit more often if I had the money." "Have tried visitor visa,DV lottery-none worked."

Definitely remove those 2 sentences (and the last one, USCIS determine if you sent sufficient evidences or no).

1. It looks like you don't have enough money (not good, you will have to prove later that you can support her, and it's a very important point)

2. It looks like you may not want to get married, but that the fiance visa is the only way for her to come to the US. Again, not good.

It would not cause your petition to be denied, but it may cause trouble at the consulate stage, when your fiancee will have her visa interview.

Sure, these are just bad interpretations but it's best if you just answer simply and fully to the question. Just don't make it looks like you are desperate. :)

What I put in my answer was two lists one for her trips here with dates and one with my trips there and dates. I sent boarding passes for each trip as evidence and one picture of us together from each trip as secondary evidence with the date and place written on the back of the picture. This was enough in my case.
