See my timeline that I posted earlier to get an idea. You do not need to bring anything to the POE to show you have paid. They send your do not open package to the USCIS anyhow.

It shouldn't take long. Maybe a day or two. I don't remember getting an email, but I could be wrong. You don't have to pay the fee to POE, so they won't ask you anything about it. Just be sure to have the brown envelope at the ready! Good luck!

Took about a month from POE it looks like for me just to be produced. I'd like for people to keep adding to this thread however so we can get a base on how long it takes to get your green card with this new system. Thanks everyone! :)

I have serious doubts about ELIS and how much USCIS people know about it, honestly. I paid my fee June 3. POE at EWR June 24. My husband got the $165 deducted from his account but nothing has happened. My understanding was that card production would be triggered once I hit the POE (part of the reason why I paid so in advance - did not want surprises), but the status at ELIS still just shows as Accepted. I tried calling USCIS and seeing if someone could tell me if my card was being produced but the lady I got (which had the thickest accent ever) said (or at least this is what I understood she said) that card production would be triggered 30 days after POE (that doesn't quite make sense to me...)

I also requested a replacement SS card (I had a SSN from my student visa says)...and nothing yet. One would think that a replacement card would take less time; I remember when I applied for my SSN the first time it took about 10 days for it to show up at my mailbox, but then again that was almost 4 years ago. Maybe things are slower now.

I don't know if I should be worried or not...

Green cards have always taken a few months (6-8 weeks) to get to people. It's been a month since I came to the USA so my timeline coincides with what the ELIS CSR told you. I bet in the next 2-3 weeks you'll see it move to optimized and then to closed.

I also checked the SSN box but know from reading on here since I joined last year, that is hit or miss and always has been.

Keep us updated here, we're some of the first people to use the ELIS site for green card production, so the better we track this, the more we know and can help those who come after. :)

Adding to list. Checked off box to get an SSN. No SSN yet, going to SSA tomorrow to see what's up.

POE 6/14/13. Up to last week, I was stuck on "Accepted" status in ELIS. I called USCIS last week and was told my "letter" with info regarding my green card was mailed out to me on 7/8/13. No ETA on available on how long it takes to get a green card for my case, or in general. I checked ELIS website yesterday day and voila...my status changed "Optimized".

Anyone know what's in this "letter" that is being sent my way?

No idea about a letter! First I've heard of it.

Probably just a jargon mixup with the USCIS rep. She mentioned my file indicated a letter (or perhaps package) was mailed out to me, providing more info on the status of my green card. It's probably just my green card, but they aren't able to tell with the info/system they have.

Well, I haven't tried with USCIS again...my status still shows up as Accepted on the ELIS website. I did go to the SSA office today and my SS card (replacement) hadn't been requested so the rep requested one for me and I should get it in 10 bus days. I'll keep checking ELIS until its been 30 days after POE...or should I be calling USCIS earlier than that? I'm starting to think I should allow those 30 days aft POE before I get worried.

Could that letter you're referring to be the welcome letter people get when they first arrive?

I did get my state ID...Washington state IDs are delivered in the mail in about a week if you per-apply online and are approved and so forth. So that helps a little

Niki, hubby's card arrived this morning! So yours should be there within this week or so, I'd bet. dancin5hr.gif According to the site, it changed to "optimized" on Tuesday, and "closed" on Thursday, so it took two days to get here after it was produced. For those interested, case status reads as such:

The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on July 13, 2013, directly to the address we had on file. The USPS tracking number assigned was **********************. You can use this number at www.usps.com to view the detailed tracking information recorded by USPS for the mailed card.
