Medical during period, is it ok?

I will have my medical check up on Friday and i'm wondering if it's ok to do it when i'm on my period or should i reschedule the appointment?

for my wife it is a no problem (asked the doctor directly), although I have seen some members from other countries come back from their medical with an additional appointment necessary due to their "monthly" visitor.. check your country's panel physicians and ask them directly for the most accurate answer

Interesting you ask this because i saw someone else mention they had to reschedule it and really im not sure why?!

The only reason I can think of is maybe because the breast exam may be too painful, but really I dont see any other reason or am I missing something?

From my experience it wouldn't matter if your period is on or not, I only had x-ray, blood test and required vaccines. Countries might have different requirements for medical so you can ask at the location where you will be getting your medical done.

well they're supposed to do an external genital examination so it could interfere with that. I personally didn't have that done, a few others did. I also did not have a breast exam done.

I personally wouldn't reschedule the medical and see what happens.

I'm surprised you didn't have the physical exam done (stand, bend, glands etc).

I saw applicants with a note "to be back after menses" when i had my medical exam. They did everything except the urine collection..Maybe it varies from different countries..

yeah it absolutely varies country to country .. I saw some members say the same thing here, but am sure where my wife's will be done it is a non issue..

it's always better to contact the doctor directly than to come here risking a mistake

Oooohh #######. Forgot about the urine test. That's right, menstruation can interfere with some test results.

I agree other comments too,maybe having monthly period during your medical exam may interfere some test results & I read some who have experienced it was told to comeback after their period,so to be safe and not worry about it,its best to take medical check up without on monthly red alerts,lol..mavs

For London, it would not matter. The genital exam is a glance down the knickers for a nano second, and there is no urine test. Just FYI if someone searches this forum and finds this thread.

I was on my period as well and it didn't matter. This is not supposed to be a gynecological exam. I had blood test (syphilis ony), X ray and the doctor checked my breast and stomach among other things but did not touch anything down there!

In Sweden they hardly look at you, had my blood test and a very swift overall check up. So I wonder when they check the breasts in some countries, what are they looking for?
