It has now been 2 weeks and /or 10 business days as specified by Kingston Embassy that my fiance will receive his visa through DHL but still nothing. NO information where that visa is or when it will arrive. He was approved on June 4th and the http://ceac.state.gov/ website only says READY and that file was created and last updated on June 5th. Does that mean they are not touching his file? Whats going on, Im going crazy!?! What makes it worse im arriving in Jamaica in 1 hour and have only a week to pick him up and take him home before going back home. No return ticket for me (great there i go getting detained at immigration, again) smh... What is going on. How long more will it take?!?!

Email the embassy. Include yout KNG number and his name in the email thread. When we were waiting for ours I ended up emailing them and asking for the status. They replied it will be processed shortly. It was ready about 2 hours later. Some folks wait longer though. It may be in AP. But the enbassy should be able to tell you something. Good luck!

So, you're saying you made travel plans before the visa was in hand? That's a No-No, you should know.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Ours took 3.5 weeks. People with interview dates before yours are still waiting for theirs. AP is normal at Kingston embassy and making plans before visa is in hand is never a good idea.....You can contact the embassy but they will take their sweet time issuing that visa no matter what....When your status on the CEAC website changes from "ready" to "issued", you will receive it. Just some more waiting until then, unfortunately.

Yes i send them an email today!

I agree, time to call and/or email the embassy. Did they keep his passport at the interview?

I did email them today and yes they kept his passport and original birth cerificate and told him they will send the visa in 14 days. Its 14 days now and there is nothing.

I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't got through yet hon.... I remember you saying that the website said " for informational purposes only"

Did you register for courier with a pick up/drop option and did you make sure the passport# was entered correctly? The passport # should begin with an A.

Just double check because if it's not yet issued to DHL it should say "There's no info on the waybill # at this time"

Just checkn in hon...I feel bad because my hubby got his and is here now with me.

Im so happy for you and "jealous" lol cos our men had interview on the same day and both get apprived, yet mine's visa is who knows where. Im in Jamaica now w my fiance but still stressing about when it will arrive as i have to get back t work on the 1st and was hoping to take him back home with me. I did register for a drop off location in Mo Bay and it gave me a reference # and it does say that "There is no info on the waybill # at this time". I see that your POE was Orlando Im looking at a Sat return for the 29th going through Orlando w a 2 hour layover can u tell me what his experience was.

If U R Jamaican U can travel to Jamaica on a one way ticket

Y would they give U grief

I am not a Jamaican citizen i hold a US Passport, but i didnt get any grief yesterday i just told them that im flying bk w Airtran even though i havent booked my ticket yet and they let me get through. However my girl friend is coming to meet me in Mo Bay today and is in Boston right now, she also bought a 1 way ticket to MBJ and US Airways denied her boarding the plane unless she bought a return ticket to the USA. So we just buy her a ticket just so she can get back. Its weird how i got here no problem but they didnt even let her board in Boston. I guess its luck and it just seems people everywhere dont know how to do their jobs or explain policies. lol

Did you call DOS to see if the visa was issued?

I called them a week ago and they said it was in AP then i checked the website and since then it says "Ready" and no change also it says last date file was updated was June 5th. I am going to call them today and seen answers. Does anyone have a # I can call her in Jamaica and seek some answers?

Ready does not mean your visa is ready for pick up, that is what it says when they are processing your paperwork. it will say issued, and then DHL Will pick it up. Married visa processes are different than fiance, they are issued quicker. Only DOS can tell you that the visa has been issued. This part for K-1 can take 2-8 weeks.

Hope this info helps, sorry you are down there waiting.
