It never takes long for new gun laws to cause an increase in crime.

In addition to generating millions of dolars for the NRA, crime is spiking in New York. We can predict that Mayor Bloomberg and other fascists will say we "need MORE gun laws, still not enough, let us try again!"

The gun freaks fail once again. You should try reading and comprehending what you post from time to time. From the article that Gary linked to:

While the weekend’s heinous gun violence might suggest the ineffectiveness of such measures, this year’s numbers are notably better than the last. According to the Daily News, the 440 shootings so far this year represent a 23 percent drop from the 574 victims in 2012.

From the Daily News link:

The two days of bloodshed represented 5% of this year’s roughly 440 shootings. Despite the violence, that figure represents a 23% drop compared with the 574 victims shot through this time last year.

There is LESS gun violence thus far this year. You get that? LESS! But sure, in Gun-nuttistan less is more. Man, how dim the NRA makes people...

Okay, again for the cheap seats in the back:There is LESS gun violence in NYC this year compared to last. NOT more. Gary just can't read.

Gary posting this under a completely false headline - which the moderation of course lets stand - shows that parroting for the NRA makes people really dumb.

I've got a front row seat to NYC.......

Then you should have gathered that gun violence is down in NYC. Ergo, following Gary's line of argument, gun laws cause less crime.

obviously bloomberg needs more laws!

I want to bring your attention to what is called NYPD Compstat. It's a high pressure blame session among the police big wigs, and holds various officials accountable for their crime numbers in the 77 precincts of NY (plus housing and transit districts). I can't tell you how often an attempted assault here gets reclassified as "Reckless endangerment". Grand larcenies(Index crime) reclassified as petit (Non-index crime). Attempted burglary reclassed as criminal mischief. Assault 2, reclassed as assault 3 (Big difference). So if you want to compare year over year, look at an index crime that can't be fudged. Such as rape. (and with that they can fudge an attempted rape# as a sex abuse). Or murder (and I don't know what the homicide numbers are this year). I don't know what the true figures are, and I don't dispute you. But I believe only half, may be less, of what I see on a statistics report. It's just too easy to reclass a crime.

I told you. I have a front row seat to NYC. And I was just cracking a joke...

The ones you chose to participate in, yes. I think that pretty much comes with the whole discussion board premise, whether you are a mod or not.
