Nothing is guaranteed, but it's usually a very good sign when they keep the passport - it means the consulate doesn't anticipate months of waiting to approve on their end. So barring anything popping up at the last minute, I would guess that you're probably going to see completion very soon. We don't have too many reports from Qatar, but it's a small consulate and not very busy. Congratulations - you're almost done !

Who's "they"? If you're referring to our case, we had our interview yesterday and there is no indication that we are in AP, which is why I'm asking b/c the consular officer wasn't very clear and I wasn't about to ask straight out if they were going to put us in Admin Processing. She said there would be no more processing from their side and only mentioned paperwork to be completed at the POE. But she also wouldn't put a timeline on how long we should expect to wait for the phone call from them, saying "a couple weeks". So I'm not sure what to think, but am hoping/praying for the best!

What is this "rule" about Palestinian males and AP ? It seems you are projecting some of your own attitudes.

Anyway, here is a case in point for you: My husband's visa was issued exactly 4 days after the missing police report was received at the consulate.

And this quick turn-around is not unusual for Jerusalem. Certainly, some cases involve APs - and yes, sometimes lengthy APs - but some don't. It has nothing to do with being a "Palestinian male" - it depends on many other factors, including which consulate is processing the case (not all Palestinians are processing through Jerusalem - many are in other countries, like Roosha's husband.)

When my husband got his F1 student visa, he had it in his hands about a week after the interview. He's Jordanian rather than Palestinian, but most Jordanians seem to go through AP, and it appears either his was rushed through, or they didn't do one.

Hey Roosha, I got my appointment date today ( 04/29) and It's scheduled for June 17th!! I am due on June 3rd... I will go ahead and email, call, fax my embassy with a request for an earlier interview, like you did smile.png I really have some serious medical issues and my husband is really needed to be with me. I hope my interview gets pushed back as yours smile.png I was wondering if you can share the email you sent to your embassy asking for a faster interview date.. You have no idea how much that would help me so much cray5ol.gif

By the way, I am SO sure you are not going thru AP, because ALL the people from Arab countries that I have seen on VJ who got any kind of "expedite" at the NVC/embassy stage, are getting their visa within a week or so! I am estimating you will get your husband's visa the beginning of next week inshallah... yes.gifyes.gif
