Hi VJ, i want to clarify as to when exactly my birth certificate (beneficiary) needed? Is it during interview or i need to send it to NVC? I ask this because i need to correct my gender and sadly i need to go home for it is one of the requirements to be check by the assign doctor and a signature from the court.

Our case is on Initial Review and was sent to NBC last 5th of April. Although we still not received the form I-797 maybe because we are here in Kuwait (APO address) I still thinking that the email is consider as NOA1 :))).

I am planning to go home (Philippines) mid june, do you think it is the right time? Or i need to go now to process my BC? Thanks

You need to send it to the NVC. Fortunately your application does not expire unless it has been a year since you last contacted them (e-mail, mail, or phone). Get all your paperwork sorted as soon as you can.

You need to send it to NVC after paying IV bill.

For sure, you should take a look to VJ timeline to estimate your case cz I don't know how long to correct BC in your country.

If your case will be transferred to a USCIS field office,they will usually ask for a copy of your birth cert (beneficiary). A LOT of VJ members, including me, received RFE's for this. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey. :thumbs: Original NSO BC will be needed at NVC and interview.

Many members have been and many many more have not been asked for a copy of the birth certificate. So usually they will not ask for a copy but occasionally they do since the start of the transfers.

@OP

Yes go home and get the birth certificate corrected! You never know when you may get your NOA2 (make sure you make an account on the USCIS website to receive continued email updates) and the original or certified copy of the birth certificate will be needed by the NVC. I hope you can get it fixed quickly without too much hassle. :)

can you have anyone of your family go to NSO and have it ammended. So that when you are back here in PI everything is fix.

this one. in fact, I think you not even need to go back to the PI to get it fixed - your family member can send it on to you or send it on to yer USCitizen spouse for NVC doc intake (or further DCF processing, whichever you are doing)

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
