Hey Everyone!

We received an email today from USCIS notifying us they sent a RFE letter. Hopefully it's something simple... At least we know they are reviewing august 2012 applications now. Our NOA was 8/27/12.

Happy to hear they are working on August! Sorry to hear about the RFE :( It sucks that you had to wait this long for your application to be looked at in the first place but then to get an RFE is annoying! I hope its something simple and your green card arrives quickly :star:

Thanks for the good wishes. We are just happy they have looked at it. I have a feeling the rfe will be for 2012 tax return transcript. *fingers crossed* Best of luck with your application.

Hi All,

Has anyone received their green cards? Seems like the last post was in April with concerns of waiting over an extended period of time for their status to be changed. I've been contacting USCIS almost every week to get an update on my husband's status but they keep giving me a generic answer - "still processing etc". They've also given me dates that we should be receiving something each time i call.... Can someone please advise how long it took for you to receive your green card IF you have?

We applied for i485 in Nov of 2012

First NOA was 12/17/12

Biometrics were done 1/14/13

Now waiting for a status update...... getting really frustrated as we are planning on having a wedding in the Philippines end of year but have not made any arrangements since my husband doesn't have his green card yet! Any advise will be greatly appreciated!!!!

What are the odds of being transferred to a local office for an interview? What is the criteria? I wasn't into getting an interview but if it makes the process faster i am all in ! I mailed my application today and i guess it will be going to NBC as well. How do i know if it is transferred to my local office? Does it depend on your home country or any other variable?

Thanks.

It doesn't depend on your home country or if your case was well-prepared or no (as some people thinks). It depends on your local USCIS office, some are busier than others, and still, a same office sometimes gives interview, sometimes not. You can't really know for sure if you will get an interview until you get a notice of interview. About half of the AOS from K-1 are scheduled for an interview. The only answer is "wait and see"...

Ok so it depends on luck i guess. How long after application does the interview notice come? (if interview needed).

Does anyone know about Chicago local office?

Ahmed just received a notice that he is in queue for an interview after we inquired on the RFE response review status on June 6. A service request was done on June 17 and the notice was generated June 19(no update to case status on USCIS.gov as of this afternoon still. Hoping that just maybe they will skip him for an interview and just produce the 2 year card (I am hate interviews and I would be with him). I think I remember this happening to a few members recently.

He applied in August 2012, received his EAD/Travel authourization card on October 15 2012. In April, we inquried on the status of his AOS and a couple of days later received the RFE(no update on USCIS.gov until June 6 again for the rfe resposne, sayimg allow 60 days).

I get frustrated when I see others who have applied well after us get approved in record time or the ones that don't seem to follow the rules(like coming here on a tourist visa and getting married and not going back and then applying for AOS). We followed all the rules(applied for K-1, waiting for that to be approved, his interview, AP and then getting his visa, coming here and marrying in the 90 days, applying for AOS in that 90 day time period also).
