Ok...since October 1st, we've heard nothing. I've been keeping an eye on the USCIS website to see if there's been any change from 'Initial Review', (or whatever it's called.) According to their timeline schedule or the I129F, the California Service Center takes 5 1/2 months to process. I know my next step is the NVC, then Manila. I hate to ask this, mostly because I probably won't like the answer, but here it is: how much longer can we expect to be waiting? I guess I have to provide an affidavit of support to the NVC at some point. I guess I'm asking for a somewhat accurate timeline. When we get the appointment for the medical and interview, I have to start booking a flight to meet her in Manila.

Curiously yours,

ron

CSC seems stuck on July I-129F cases for a while now. It's better for you to expect a longer wait, because their average timeline is way past 5 1/2 months. Take a look at the Immigration timelines tab above, check Igor's list carefully and you will quickly understand the problem.

You do not have anything to send to NVC then. Your case will just be transferred there quickly before being sent to your fiancee's consulate. The affidavit of support will be asked there.

Overall process took 9 months. Started on January 2012, on August received approval (before it, as you know, "Initial Review" has been frozen). On September I was called to interview, in one week I received visa.

Figure another 3-5 months.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

From what teir 2 told me it is a case by case basis and their time lines are at 5 to 9 months and 2 months to the consulate so you are looking at probably another 6 months in your case, you can blame that on the overload of deferred action applications that Obama has allowed in the USCIS system.

Hey...thanks for your responses!! I guess I'm in for the long wait now. Going back to my previous post, I guess I'll plan on being there for the interview, just to support and not give the CO's anything to question. Once the visa is approved, I'll just book a ticket for her, and meet her at the airport!! She wants to see and touch snow? She will change that soon enough!!!

Before deferred action the cases have been taking 5-9 months. Please stop spreading this excuse for everything in almost all of your posts.

Personally, I'm not worried. I just have noticed you spreading this negativity around and it adds a false worry onto all the other reasons why people think they're not getting approved within a 5 month time frame.
