Hi All,

I wonder if anyone has any feedback on this? How many of you have actually tried this, and how many have actually found it to be effective?

I am far off from this, as I am just about getting ready to submit my I130, but I always want to be prepared for anything I get into.

My real question is about the documents. So basically, the idea is to have the petitioner who is in the US, to have both his documents and the beneficiary documents with him, so that the petitioner can mail this from within the US to the NVC. I was just wondering if there would be any issue with regards to the origin of the mail package? Would there be any issue as to why the package which should be from the beneficiary is coming from within the US?

Thank you guys.

I know I am not even at the I130 phase, but I always plan ahead. I want to perfect this LingChe method, so I can be with my wife as soon as possible.

That is only a suggestion. Some countries have a really bad mailing system. The idea is that it is easier for the package to arrive to a US destination from a US origin.

There is certainly nothing wrong with sending it from your home country...we did without issues

It is good to plan early. At the NVC, the beneficiary is expected to send in the DS 3032 form ( choice of agent and address form) authorizing someone to make payments to NVC and send/receive correspondence on their behalf. Even NVC suggests using someone with a US based address for this . This is due to the unreliability of the mailing systems in most countries. It is accepted by NVC and makes for faster processing. The petitioner is usually made the agent of choice in most cases and keeps all originals that will be needed for the NVc until when it is needed( I came back from our wedding with all our originals until NVC time). There have been cases where both couple based abroad chose to elect their parents or someone else they trust to be their agent for that purpose. Of course few people go the rare route of having the beneficiary do it but hmmmm......

Of course some countries are into electronic processing so I think the beneficiary keeps the originals until interview time.

NVC doesn't care where the packets/packages/envelopes come from, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Oh NVC actually cares. When someone suggest an easier method to you then they have some consideration. This is the DS 3032 email I got from them last month:

Dear Principal Applicant:

The immigrant visa petition recently filed on your behalf is now eligible for further processing at the

National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the following identification numbers to carry out the next

steps in the immigration process:

Your NVC Case Number: LGSxxxxxxxxxx

Your Invoice I.D. Number: xxxxxxxx

Your Beneficiary I.D. Number: xxxxxxxx

Keep this letter in a safe place.

You will need the identification numbers again during the immigration process.

The first stage of visa processing is to

establish communication with the NVC by registering an agent

and your agent's contact information with the NVC. Your agent is a person you choose to receive

communications from the NVC on your behalf. You may act as your own agent, or you may choose your

petitioner, a family member, a friend, an attorney, an immigrant assistance professional, or any other

person you trust to represent you.

If you decide to register another person as your agent, the NVC strongly recommends choosing a person

with e-mail capability and a postal mailing address in the U.S.A. because postal mail delivery can be

unreliable in some parts of the world. If you act as your own agent the NVC recommends e-mail as the

quickest and most efficient form of communication.

LOL don't take that for them "caring" where you send the packages from. They just want you in and out of their hair, not calling them about mislaid mail. ;)

seriously - NVC doesn't care where the packages come from, or who sends them.

As long as the casefile number is on the documents, that's all they care about, for document intake, prior to deconstructing and reviewing what was sent.

It's nice to have a quote (as you did) from a reliable source - but seriously - NVC doesn't care where the package comes from, or who sends them IN to NVC.

....and that is the exact reason why they 'care' enough to have made that recommendation in every letter they email out for the DS 3032.

It does not mean if it comes from any other source or location, it will be rejected. OP was only being made to see that mailing from the US is the preferred option by applicants and well accepted by NVC.
