I am a US citizen and I am going to file the form I-130 for my mom and she cannot speak English (she only know a few words).

1.)Is it possible to bring her in USA if she cannot speak english?

If yes,

2.)Can I request an interpreter together with the form I-130 (a relative interpreter) to help her by the time her interview come?

yes you can file for your mom, you do not need to request interpreter with I-130, most consulates have ppl who speak local language and u can request for interpreter when your case is at the stage of interview at consulate.

Just an FYI... you might want to do some research on cost of medical insurance and coverage for your mom, based on her age.

I think I know why you asked this question. It doesn't matter if your Mom can't speak English because you and she do not have to prove a relationship. Where language is an issue is when a couple are trying to prove a relationship, and the language barrier makes it difficult for them to communicate, so how do they have a relationship when neither one of them speaks the other person's language? I think that is the reason for the confusion here. I imagine if neither one spoke the other one's language there would have to be a lot of pointing, facial expressions, and maybe some mind reading! :)

Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible that my mom can immigrate in US since she cannot speak english at all. Is it possible that I can request a relative interpreter together with my filing of the form I-130 and accommodate her during her interview? And also I have never worked, is it possible my husband is the only one who sponsor my mom?

I am a US citizen through marriage. Thank you!!!

The US Embassy in Manila has translators who can speak Tagalog, Ilocano, and Cebuano, in addition to English. Some of the consular officers are also multi-lingual. If your mother speaks one of these languages then she'll be fine. She doesn't have to notify them in advance. They'll ask what language she prefers to have her interview in.
