Please reference Igors List for an idea of what NOA1 dates are currently being processed. CSC seems to be working on July and August applications. Based upon this, as well as USCIS reported processing times, I would not expect your case to be adjudicated for about another month. If anyone uses me as a goal post, I'm afraid there's some more waiting coming your way. I'm at 6 months and 19 days today (203 days total) and still waiting on word from the CSC.

Sorry to say, but if your 5 months JUST passed and you filed at CSC, there is nothing you can do. My NOA1 was July 26th. After 5 1/2 months I called and they said I couldn't put in a service request because I was "still within normal processing times." After six months passed, I called again and they said the same thing but that I should hear within 9 days and if not I could call back. So I called back after ten days (on Feb. 1) and they said that I was STILL within the normal processing times and I had to wait three MORE weeks before calling back and putting in a service request. They said that they were currently processing apps from July 17th. (To me that seems to be BS because in looking at the forums, a month prior to when I called they were telling people that same date)

CSC is running up to 7.2 months for K1 NOA2, last year this time it was 94 days, big bummer!

Today, USCIS updated their estimated processing time on the website from 5 months to 5.5 months. Unfortunately, the new processing time is only accurate to December 31, 2012 (ie: totally useless), but I think it might be difficult to get a service request for another two weeks, since you aren't outside of published processing times yet.

I feel your pain -- we received an NOA1 on August 31 and are waiting impatiently for that NOA2. You could also call and try to get a service request. You never know, you might get lucky!
