expedite i130 petition

Good day all!! If a I130 petition is expedited at NVC status, what is the processing procedures? Does NVC process it, or does the embassy does it? I am wondering which one will handle a expedited petition :innocent:

An expedite must happen at each stage. I've seen NVC send the file to the consulate to finish processing in the event of an expedite, but an expedite must also be requested at the consulate stage

If you want to be expedited through NVC you request through them they send your petition off to embassy where there you now deal directly with embassy to expedite.

are you asking about expedite at USCIS for the I-130 petition?

or expedite at NVC for the Visa Application?

Are you asking can you ask for expedite when your I-130 is pending? Of course you can. You need to call USCIS they will tell you what you need to do and give you the fax number to send to them immediately (no mailing cool huh).

How long does it take? It varies. Can be weeks.

But know that you have to expedite at each stage. Once approved by USCIS thne you have to request NVC to expedite then you have to request expedite of interview which NVC will send to embassy and then decide.

No you cannot request for the visa application to be expedited at the NVC before they have your case.

OP - You can request it but that doesn't mean the consulate will grant the request even if the NVC okays it. Your file might be sent to the consulate and sit there longer than it would have if the NVC had booked you an interview. There is also no one to check to make sure your stuff is correct and that documents aren't missing. After the NVC okays the expedite, they no longer process it, it is sent to the consulate as is.

So. Let me get this straight. If I requested an expedite at the level I'm at (I just sent my i130 in 7/25/13 and received my NOA1 for my wife...but not for my wifes daughter) it wont do me any good? That I'd have to wait until I get my NOA2's?

You are at the USCIS stage. Read their requirements on why you want an expedite. You cannot expedite the NVC before your file gets to the NVC.
