It looks REF is in making? I sent a wrong spouse photos size, 1.38 x 1.77 inches with DS230?

Is the photo size a big deal to get you a REF? I just found out the standard NVC's DS230 photo size has to be 2 inches by 2 inches, but it is too late now because I just mailed off my spouse's DS230 package just yesterday, Feb.02, and I just wonder if I am destined for REF or is it possible to contact NVC before the REF to send the right size to avoid the REF and the delay? Or if they could just simple let my spouse to provide the photos at the interview? What can I say? One just wishes all countries to just have one standardized passport photos size?

You are assuming they will send the RFE because you didnt follow the instructions by sending the correct size photos. This isnt always the case as we have seen here on V J in the past.

Its best to simply wait to see what happens. I dont think you can submit different photos and hope they will connect with your case now. Doing that would cause you to wonder if they did get put in the case file.

It is due to the fact you point out about different sized photos being allowed that USCIS demands a standard size for visas.

My suggestion...wait until they send the RFE because it will have instructions for sending the correct size photos. Then, as Ning said, they will be connected to your file.

Thank you Ning and indiana_sweetie. I have to agree with both of you. Wait and see, with finger crossed I may add, is theway to handle it as you two have rightly suggested. I will let you know if all went well for I am in the last stage of NVC, at least that's what I tell to myself?

you may or may not get an RFE. To add, they will not ask you to bring something to the interview that is required at the USCIS stage. Not to mention the fact that a separate set passport style photos are are also required at the consulate stage. Even if you sent new pics in at this point, the chances of them being matched up with your case file are slim. When an RFE is sent, it is sent along with a specific envelope that is sent to a totally different address than the petition was sent to. Good luck.

another suggestion:

print off another IV cover sheet,

write the case # on the back of the photos,

send off with a cover letter.

It'll catch up to the casefile, eventually.

That's the cool thing about NVC - you can send more stuff with a subsequent mailing prior to 'document acceptance complete' .

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Wow! never even thought about that, but it makes perfect sense given the fact the cover sheet is a sort of unique road that lead to my case file. I think I will do just that, assuming it will catch up my before my case reviewed. Though I wonder how long usually takes for DS230 to get reviewed?

Wrong. There is no harm in sending extra (correct) information in hopes it will connect with your case. Just slather it in your case number and hope for the best.

Right. Try slather and hope. Then hope slather and hope worked rather than a known procedure.

I dont have anything to add except 'listen to Darnell' because hes always spot on.

And that maybe its just the way my PC displays the recent threads, but this was a pretty funny one- all I could see was "It looks REF is in making? I sent a wrong spouse photo.." I was kind of dreading opening it- thinking how many spouses do they have? and did they petition them all at the same time they that they picked the wrong spouses photo?

Should be no problem for USCIS but for NVC, the medical and the interview, you'll need the correct size.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
