Our NOA1 has a priority date of 14 Sep 12.

Our petition was transferred to NBC on 17 Sep 12 and then to a local office (Charleston) on 26 Sep 12.

Received a NOID dated 9 Nov 12. Sent in required documentation (beneficiary birth certificate) the day after receiving the NOID and still waiting.

They sometimes do this if they are not sure about whether your marriage is a bona fide one. It may be worth seeing an immigration lawyer to review the evidence you have, and any other evidence you can provide to demonstrate your marriage is legitimate and not entered into for immigration purposes.

Did they say why they were asking for a direct interview? Are you both in the US (for example, is the non-US spouse filing for adjustment of status) and they asked for both of you to attend?

There may be nothing wrong with your case; I heard they "audit" a certain number at random, but it's not generally comforting or useful to you.

Please set up your timeline to help others in similar cases.
