We got approved on the 16th and our NOA2 hardcopy arrived last saturday (jan 19th), I guess yours should be there in no time as well!

As the FAQ at the beginning of this thread mention, allow a week to your case to get to the NVC and from there start calling every day.

My husband called in today (HA,we are a little impatient! lol) and they don't have our case there yet....so we still gotta wait a little longer....

hi! we got our hardcppy just yesterday. how's ur nvc? how is it going?

Lord God You Know All Things, You Can Do All Things. We Trust You So Much!
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Hi VJ member!

I'm filing for my mom. I called the NVC last January 23 and the operator said that they just receive the papers from USCIS. I'll call them back next week to give my email add & my mom's. Anyway, my mom gave me her email password because she's not that good in computer. Is it ok if i'll use my mom's email account to send the DS 3032 Choice of Address and agent? By the way, my mom is in the other country. thanks ahead for your reply!

Yes, you can sign on for your mother and send the DS-3032. But remember, you can only do this AFTER a case number has been assigned.

Saylin Hi!

Do you know if NVC still send snail mail after sending correspondence through emails?

thanks!

Typically, no. I have seen a person or two get snail mail correspondence weeks/months after they're done with the process.

If we send our AOS package before IV package, will we definitely get a checklist for the IV package? It's just that we need something to take to the police (addressed to us) to actually prove we need a certificate (Japan).

There's no guarantee, no. And the checklist doesn't specify the civil documents (as far as I know). If you need a formal checklist letter for something that specific, you're going to have to send your IV package without the PCC and then wait for the checklist letter. Alternatively, you can request for the case to be closed without the PCC and just bring it to the interview instead, saving you a bit of time.

Hi Mntjc!you mentioned that you were calling regularly, have you try to ask them to recieve through email?

You can't give your email addresses until AFTER a case number has been assigned, so that doesn't work. You need to be proactive with NVC if you want to fly through the process.

Thanks! I might have to do that. Do you have any idea how long it would take for the NVC to mail us a notice with the checklist (from the time they accepted and processed the IV package?)

Gah, can't edit post.

Sorry another question, from the first post...

- Proof of US citizenship/residency of joint sponsor (ex: copy of US passport, US birth certificate, US naturalization certificate, or front & back of green card)

My FIL is the joint sponsor, do we have to send his original birth certificate? Is a photocopy of it OK?

We've submitted our supporting documents electronically and NVC sent me an e-mail acknowledging their receipt on January 18 (AOS) and January 22 (DS-260). When should we start calling to check their status? Is today (Monday) too soon?

My DS-230 package was reviewed on 1/17 and I received the checklist on the 19th for missing documents.

I had called NVC and they said usually checklist comes 2 to 3 days later.

First off, if you gave both email addresses to an operator, the checklist will be sent by email. As for the time frame, probably a week or two once they receive the package in the mail room.

Gah, can't edit post.

Photocopy is more than sufficient for that! Just make sure it's in color and legible!

We've submitted our supporting documents electronically and NVC sent me an e-mail acknowledging their receipt on January 18 (AOS) and January 22 (DS-260). When should we start calling to check their status? Is today (Monday) too soon?
