December i-130 Approvals Waiting for NVC

I emailed NVC on Dec 9 (6 days after the NOA2) & they emailed me back Dec 14 that they recently received the petition.

I called NVC on Dec 19 to inquire if they have assigned a case number & they told me that father's case is still not in the system. blush.gif

Well, they have at least one of them. I wonder why this takes so long. Isnt it all electronic? Or are they using the post office like its the 1800s and there is a man and a wagon caring our files to New York?

Hi!

I was approved on December 11th, called NVC two days ago, they received my case on December 20th... Put our emails in, now waiting for them to generate the first documents :).

Mid December approval here.

My understanding is that you shouldn't wait for NVC, but start calling 1 or 2 weeks after NOA2, which would be end of December for me.

Do you all do that?

Did you receive anything from NVC yet (mail, email)?

- Paperwork for Green Card received by USCIS: May 3, 2013
- Interview date: 24 March 2016: approved! (after 3 long years!)

- N-400 sent out: December 26, 2018
- NOA1/priority date: December 31st, 2018
- Biometrics: January 30th, 2019

That's great if communicating via email works that well! Even though it may not actually help the process.

Which email do you use?

Thank you for your reply, it's really helpful to see your experience and dates.

This is the email: NVCInquiry@state.gov good.gif

With the vacation holidays they are probably going to get around to assigning us case numbers by January. unsure.gif

Yes I figured it might be January. Nothing hurts to be hopeful. I am now just worried about trying to file taxes and get them back in time. If NVC dont want the 2012 taxes I am sure the Embassy will. Or will NVC make us wait and file taxes. What do you think?

I plan on using the last 3 years (2009, 2010 & 2011), by law I can't file before January 31. We don't necessarily have to include the 2012 ITR/transcripts since we have until April 15 (last day) to file. Hope this will work.

Happy Holidays to all. Kinda depressing though God's Mercy but I am making it through the holidays. I will go for a jog in the snow, then start bugging NVC.

How are you?

It is driving me insane we got caught by the holidays.

Tis a man and a wagon.

Seriously.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
