Hi my Name is Ascencion, and me and my girlfriend from Vietnam want to get marry. we both love each other, and we are both little people. I plan to met her in feb of 2013 and then go back in may 2013 to do the vietnamese engagement ceremony. and come back to the us and do the K-1 Fiance Visa.

i'm gonna take pic of both trips and i have got her flowers, and i have the email for that, and i'm gonna print out the first texts we had when we met on littlepeoplemeet.com she haves been my girlfriend for about a month now. and i plan to buy her a gift for Christmas.

now, the poverty level in michigan is 10,890 for 1 person if i'm right. but i get SSI, now i know i can't do it with ssi so i have to give that up. and i'm willing to do that. because i get 1000 a month from a land contract so per year i make $12,000 now thats good for me alone, but if i add her then its goes to $14,710 so i'm just below the cost of living. but..my mom lives with me and she makes $30,000 so bring us to 42,000 per year. if i can have her as my co-sponsor i will meet the income requirement.

Now I own the house that i live in, i don't have a mortgage. the house is all mine.

so what i'm asking if you guys think i got a good shot at bring my girlfriend here to marry her?

thanks i hope to here from people who know how it is in Vietnam, i have heard bad stories on here from there.

I will be having a lawyer help me with all of this.

but i would like to know from you people, because i really want to marry my girlfriend and i'm really worry.

thanks. I hope to here from you guys.

If you haven't even met her yet and you only have one visit with her before trying to bring her your odds are not very high.

no i'm gonna see her in feb and then after that, i plane to go back in may to do the engagement ceremony. please read what i said. and tell me what you think of my odds.

thanks

I think for Vietnam it will probably be better to pursue a Spousal visa if you need a co-sponsor.

I think the US embassy in Vietnam doesn;t like co-sponsors for K1. If you must use a co-sponsor, then getting married and doing a CR-1 spousal visa may be a better option, But first, go meet her and have fun!

The guidelines are not by state, they are federal and you need to make 125% of the poverty level, here is a link to the I-864P for 2012

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

And you can use your SSI (I did) so between your SSI and you additional income maybe you will be fine.

A lawyer isn't really needed to fill out a few forms and gather required documents, heck if you hire one he will be asking you all the questions for the forms and then asking you to gather the documents... and then you pay HIM. You would do better to read the guides here on VJ.
