Vermont Service Center delayed....

For those of you wondering about your I-130 and why it isn't approved yet, it's because the Vermont SC is currently delayed. I called today to check the status of our I-130 form and the rep told me they are behind, the last case they have completed is from May 14th.....now, when I called 3 weeks ago it was also May 14th, so the guy said check back in the next couple of weeks it should have moved. He also mentioned they update their files once a month. Still, so discouraging to hear the same date!

It's hard to see others approved in less than the average time and you are still waiting! Happy for those who are approved, just hard to wait on the "unknown" - especially since we are expecing our second baby and need to make plans!

Our NOA1 was on June 4th....so almost 6 months. Still within "normal" processing time I guess, but I had hoped it would have gone a little faster, seeing as we both live abroad.

Did they happen to say what was causing the delay? Or did they just get bombarded like it seems in the National Volumes and Trend charts found here?

I called today (it has been almost exactly 6 months since our NOA1) and the operator was all set to put in a service request, but could not, because "even though it's outside normal processing time, it's just because VSC is running a little behind schedule." She could tell me that they are currently processing May submissions, and that if I have not gotten the NOA2 by next week I should call back again.

As for why VSC is running behind schedule, I would guess it's because they work for the government. :)

Hi.I called uscis on 10/31.2012 and they told me they processing may 14 2012.I cannot believe they still on that date as of today.I will call Monday to see

No way! Please update if you hear anything. They should be updating soon then, since they are supposed to update the records once a month. With American Thanksgiving, and the hurricane who knows how long they are delayed. Stinks since the ones right before us seemed to get approved within the 5 months.

Ya. A few people from VJ in May were approved. That gives me a little hope.

We have the same date for NOA1 (june 4th), and we are still waiting....my husband will call in this week to see what's going on.

I called yesterday and did an E-request. Today they send me an email stating:

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

What am i supposed to do wait another 60 days  Anybody else had similar email ?Any idea how long do i have to wait for an answer?

tony1234, how did you manage to do an E-Request? I've tried it on the USCIS website, and it keeps telling me that I'm still within "normal processing times", even though my date is May 17th and they're claiming 5 months for Vermont.

I did a E-request on 11/29 and this is what I got: "Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 90 days of the date of this letter.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283."

It is identical to yours, except mine says 90 days!! And this after last week my congressman's office told me VSC has told her I should hear something within 30 days!

Is there any rhyme or reason to their work? I think not!
